Disaster Management
by MS Chandrashekar on Jun 29, 2013 02:42 PM  | Hide replies

Armed Forces and RSS are the two organizations who are really patriots, but congress government maligns both these organizations. It is very sad that Armed forces are treated very shabbily by the governement and RSS is a true nationalist organization always maligned by Congress calling them communalists. It is indeed an irony and misfortune of this great nation India that we are ruled by non sensitive people

Mr. Dinesh, how is that RSS is fighting against Indians when all you hear is that they are helping the stranded pilgrims and feeding the army and the pilgrims. have you ever given food to even one person in your life to have this right to speak against RSS? forget what they are just see what are doing. If you are an Indian by heart and blood you will not say such things

Mr. tribe, be a human first, let your views of RSS come later. they just helped people in need. dont bring community here. shame on people like you who bring community in the picture when people are dying. shame on such communal zealots.

Defence Forces Magnificient Work
by kumar kn on Jun 28, 2013 04:57 PM

The entire country is grateful to the members of the Armed forces for helping save thousands of lives. Many defene personnel also lost their lives in the helecopter crash. Our hearts go out to the members of the bereaved families.

The tragedy has exposed how unprepared our civilian govt & Disaster Management Agency was been and how inefficient they were in handling such tragedies. While entire India wants to help through money and other means,we doubt whether the help given will really reach the benificiaries or be looted or wasted by the useless beaurcracy and politicians who have totally lost trust of the people. After undertaking an aerial tour have you heard our PM or seen him in action? Any govt would have declared the tragedy as a National Disaster? Why hasn't the Congress govt not done it? Only the armed forces personnel come out of this sorry tragic episode with great credit.

People ignored
by venkat hs on Jun 28, 2013 04:44 PM

All of you who are passing these remarks against her post, may note that is what has happened there in the first place ... nobody bothered about telugus or south indians ... they were actually looted in this time of tragedy ... it is only when Army came into picture the scenario changed ... facts are hard to digest ... it is quite easy to shout them down ... the ONLY people with integrity are Armed Forces ... My Salute to them ...

yes RSS did a lot of work ... and perhaps is the only organization which does such work ... otherwise it is Army Army always ... for everything we fall back on Army ... as such they are overburdened ... instead of simply passing on the job, the local administration, central govt. should do actually some work themselves ...

Media is allergic to Modi,BJP and RSS.Hence they don't cover the good work done by RSS who are the first to rush to help in any natural/manmade tragedies.Look at the way the Crown Prince's visit was covered. But the poor fellow landed into a contraversy after his visit. All the trucks sent by Congress did not reach the benificiaries. The truck drivers did not have money for fuel and hence sold the articles sent.Turned out to be a Congress tamasha.

shamefull media
by arvind koushik on Jun 28, 2013 04:29 PM

It is sad rather shameful to see the media handling the reports, especially the hindi news channels, they were not bothered about the incident but about their TRP's and every channel were shouting we are the first to show the devastated state of uttarakhand, we are showing you more calamity than others and even to the extent that wew are first channel to show more dead bodies...wonder how low these channels would fall for publicity

Disaster cell
by gopalakrishnan caruthedath on Jun 28, 2013 01:16 PM  | Hide replies

After the last sunami in which thousands lost their lives and lost several crores due to destruction, every state was supposed to have a Cell to manage disaster situations. In spite of having received a forecast of heavy rainfall and considering the large groups of philgrims in the area, what happened to the disaster cell of Uttharakand. It was a mere sleeping cell. In this case, both the politicians and the bureaucrats of the State and Centre failed to perform. Ultimately, it was the always ready and willing to do anything Armed Forces came to the rescue. When will be learn to manage disasters ? Even the media was a late entrant in the scene.

by Ananya Gupta on Jun 28, 2013 01:15 PM  | Hide replies

when all fails as usual it is the army which comes to the rescue ! In future the yatras to the Char Dham should be regulated like that of the Amarnath & Kailash ! Less Hotels & more forest cover also an infrastructure which will withstand not crumble to disaster
