This column deserves to be thrown into the dustbin...India desperately needs leaders who deliver like Modi and not just do empty talking like .. Rahul. If in this column 'Modi' is replaced with 'Rahul' or 'Sonia', then this is perfect, what they do is just that..personality cult.
Middle class has pinned its hope on only politician who deliveres and is decicive is it bad ? I see a lot of similarities in rise of Modi and Barak Obama.
Would Vivek Dehejia have galls to compare Obama's rise and hystiria he created before his first election to Mussolini ?

Vivek Dehejia writes good english but unfortunately much of what he has written is abstract and is not going to be understood by many.If Modi is popular and everyone chants his name what is the problem? He has a good track record of development.Vivek doesn't find it objectionable if Congressmen talk about Rahul without the guy doing anything.In a democracy no leader has absolute power and they have to be re-elected every few years.So comparing Modi to Hitler,etc is pure nonsense.Vivek's article is too long and fit for only Harvard School.Let him write in simple English for ordinary Indians.

Modi is a great administraotr.He has put gujrat on the path of progress and has ensured law & order for past 10 years. U shud have some respect for the elected leader of the gujratis.

Its your personal thinking, I am not gujrathi and I praise modi. If you have problem with that go to pakistan. Getting US visa is not matter of pride. However Modi never applied for that Its US who on the behest of congress italian issued statement just before elections.

if u have problem with ISLAM its your problem. It has nothing to do with secularism. Even a BJP (which is the political wing of right wing RSS) turns to secularism when in power. Vajpaee rule was based on absolute secularism.

We do not have hangers on (Chamchas) in BJP whether Modi's follower or not. That is difference between Indira's congress and BJP of today. Hence you will never hear the slogan Modi is India and India is Modi.
A person who currently hasn't been living in canada is writing an article on a leader who works at grass route level in india. I am not finding it relevant because a person living outside gujarat and india talking of any leader of india is not going to help. Positive or negetive is not of relevance here. Anyone who is a professor in canada will hardly have any clue of ground realities. Rediff you are irrelevant like article.
