All said and done, Congress has ruled India for 85% of the time since Independence and it would be foolish to underestimate them. Whatever the middle class may feel, the congress is strong in certain areas and will win at least 110 seats, making it a contender for power...

First thing, do you feel congress has done any good to the nation during all the time tha they have ruled this nation?????

I have vowed to never ever vote for congress in my life, and I have managed to convince 25 -30 of like minded people to do the same...... choice is yours.

Just list nations which got independence in same period as ours. Then list what was our condition at that time and then list what we are in today. Only because of leaders like Nehru, Indira Gandhi, etc. etc. today we have some place in developing countries. Just see Pakistan.

Development happens only when somebody questions....so, you need to praise opposition leaders...not rulers...if nobody question ...they wont do enything....Credit goes to Opposition ... not only congress ...

I too have not voted for congress in any electiona but somehow I see them keep coming to power.... so we all have to accept a reality that they are not going to go away so soon. They have support in regional parties who are afraid of BJP coming to power.

Agree that it is better to try and convince but somehow people have their own individual cohices and it is always tough...

Cong can make him PM only if Cong is able to win the next election, and that is impossible.

Only one advantage, that all congressmen bow before him, he is still to show his guts to be leader of masses. At present, this position is with Nitish and Narender Modi.

Rahul gandhi elevated to VP of Congress- meaning to congress
by ashok shah on Jan 20, 2013 01:25 PM

Legacy of the so called right to rule India passed on to the next generation of Nehru family. Nothing more. It is a well known fact that congress is diectionless, rudderless and a sinking boat foolishly hoping, rather believing, that only the Nehru clan can save it and India.

Rahul Gandhi on Mission Impossible
by MITU PADHI on Jan 20, 2013 01:14 PM

Good move by the Congress as it would make the younger generation closer to the Grand Old Party . Onthe other hand Rahul Gandhi has to have a vision to lead the party with an eye on absoulte majority , and this is no easy task .Lack of majority would mean dependence on allies , which is not at all good for our country . Alliance politics has already destroyed the economical status of India , and cheap vote bank politics is absolutely necessary for the regional parties to stay in power in their own state . Rahul Gandhi should have the courage to say to alliance with regional parties , and at the same time build up the party to fight the elections alone . But this look far fetched considering the status of the party in Odisha , Tamil Nadu ,West Bengal,Bihar etc .In the next 16 months the Congress has reinvent itself in all the states , and this can be termed as Mission Impossible-2014

Being a Gandhi, Rahul has advantage within Congress. Unless Congress gets a good majority, Rahul will not be able to change things. Partners will pose roadblocks. Narendra Modi has no acceptable national image outside Gujarat. Cannot be PM.
