But what do we do with intellectuals ? We have seen Janata Party of '77. We have seen BJP. We have seen BJP led NDA governance. Did they do anything different ? How many Prime Minsters were changed in their regime ? Total leadership crisis and infighting all the time. Even now, there is a talk on Advani, Gadkari and Modi.
At least in congress there is no dissent. They have risked giving leadership to the prime ministerial candidates, when they were young. Indira Gandhi, Rajeev Gandhi and now Rahul gandhi. Call it dynasty politics. Still the fist two of them made made difference, some strategic winners, some tactical blunders.
'71 war and operation blue star Vs excesses during emergency in one era and IT revolution Vs IPKF deployment in the other. Let's hope Rahul also can do something different. But I sincerely hoped Priyanka to be active. She has that fire like her grand mother Indira.
I have respect for Mr Modi. he is a tough guy. Perhaps at one point of time, we may need a leader like him. But can he pull India together ? Can he understand the diversity ? Is he visible to the rest of the country ?

I congratulate to you candid unbiased expression. But also please understand this. Even for the post of peon, the selection is based on some written test and some basic qualification. But in Congress, only proximity to Gandhi family is enough for one to get ministerial berth. More over Congress has ruled India since independence all the time except for brief period. Hence, it is also fair to give some opportunity for others to rule. In my opinion, India had best administration since independence NOT under the leadership of Nehru or Indira or Rajiv, BUT under the leadership of Moraji Desai and Vajpai. If given enough opportunity, then only we Indians will feel who is ruling better. Please respond.

Some times we need a hard leader to lead us. Softness some time fails to work. So teh need of teh day is people like MODI at centre level.

You are wrong.Most of the development happened only after Mr.P.V.Nar'Rao and carried forward by Mr.Vajpai, the best PM and MP India ever got.See the state highways in Guj.other states are no where near.Pl.be practical.
As Rahul can never become PM, this is an even better post for him.he can pull the strings without being accountable unless of course he leads Congress to disaster in the next polls.
Best way to impress people is to get quickly back black money stashed in foreign banks, like the Bank nationalisation done by his grandmother, our late PM. If this exercise is successfully done before the next general election, Congress can rule country for another quarter century.

Whom do you think has stashed black money outside india. It is Congress and ministers in congress govt., Nehru-gandhi family. Why should anyone give credit to Raghul if he brings (any way he will not) back black money which is only his own party's creation
Manmohan Singh is one of India's greatest pm's , if not the best.
It was his innings as the finance minister of India in 1990 , that helped steer India out of a very dangerous economic crisis and bring solidity into the Indian economy.
He has also lead India well in the last 9 years.
He is famous for his honesty and great academic credentials, having an oxford university education.
Congress should realise that it is Manmohan's image of honesty and scholarship that attracted votes for congress for its victory, not rahul gandhi.
If they continue with their dynasty politics that will signal the end of democracy and meritocracy in India.
On a day that Rahul's elevation is being celebrated by the Congress,Shinde by his statement on terror linking it to RSS/BJP has undone the feelgood effect as far as Congress is concerned.His statement is bound to unite the entire Hindus to take on the Congress and defeat it.Pak must be laughing its head off at the blunder of the Indian Home Minister.
Will raul stop the current successful formula of appointing a powerless person at the post of PM?? They cud duck all the failures of the government till now using this method.
