I feel we have been talking and blogging enough now. Do you people who religiously comment here go and vote. If that had been done, India would have not been in this state under the hands of MaunMohan.

Harsha: the problem with India is even if all the educated ppl do vote, its hardly gonna make a difference.
bcoz the majority of the populace is illiterate who can't think beyond their useless, petty caste politics.
so blogging here does not make any difference.

The ground reality is that we r a nation of illiterate ppl who will never learn to call a spade a spade.

voting rights should only be given to those who hold atleast a bachelors degree. For politicians who wish to contest, it should be made mandatory for them to have atleast a post-graduate degree..
also electoral reforms need to be implemented on war footing..

we can write endlessly, but who is gonna take note of all this.....

India will be doomed...
by Mahendra on Jan 15, 2013 10:34 AM

Indians should be ashamed of themselves that despite such henious acts being committed on our soldiers, we still invite the Fuck1stanis for cricket, hockey, cinema etc and have the choicest words of praise reserved for these tr@itors....

India will be d00med if this is our attitude towards our armed forces...

Govt is treading on thin ice to placate the minorities who seem to be their vote banks, by refraining to attack Fuck1stan which could seriously jeopardise the security of India and the imbalance in South Asia...

If this incident cannot provoke us to go for an all out war with Fuck1stanis, then I don't understand what it takes for India to stand up and give a fitting reply to all those who have been waging a proxy war for the last 3-4 decades...

This is the reason why Unity in Diversity is an utopian concept. A society that is diverse can never be united. India is a prime example.....

The Real problem
by siva kumar on Jan 15, 2013 10:28 AM  | Hide replies

The Pakistan Army wants to maintain control.
The Generals who have looted their country by maintaining tension with India do not like normalcy with India as it will reduce their power.
So whenever any peace process get momentum the Army does something to disturb it.
If India declares war or escalates tension the Pak Army is happy because it get its supremacy.
It means we are playing into the hands of the Pak Army and doing what exactly the Army wants.
Ultimate loser will be India.
India should be clever enough to punish only the Pak army without actually engaging in costly war with Pakistan.
In India such intelligent people are not available. Either Congress or BJP are are not capable of hatching a shrewd plan of that nature.

Hey , try to understand Siva's point. Gen. Kayani is delibeatly creating tension so that he can rule Pak which will be really tough as Pak army is pro terrorists opearting on their soil. But , now onwards any vioaltion of ceas fire should be dealt with strongly, agressively. Now, Pakis dont desrve any mercy. As Gen Bikram Singh said we will choose time and place to strike back and he has meaning to say so. I endorse views of others but we have to strike back cautiously without giving any reason to pak army to take control of Political power.

what you said is right.
But we must retaliate... such that the we must capture some territory of pak...like PoK.

So every time a new provokation comes from pak, we should do same.. So they should learn some lesson.
But, will our spineless politicians are capable ?

Vivekananda was secular
by seagull on Jan 15, 2013 10:14 AM  | Hide replies

Vivekananda carried 2 books with him - one is the Gita and the other is called The imitation of christ. I am not cooking up this story, please do your research on the net. Vivekananda became famous because of his speech in the US, and that seminar or parliament was funded by elite christians. In fact, the chairman of the committee that organised the parliament was a Christian priest. After that session, Vivekananda stayed back in the US for a few years and received funding from Christians there.

In other words, Vivekananda would not have approved of the way certain political parties have staked their claim to his name.

Who said no. But if supporters of certain political parties use Vivekananda as a symbol of hindutva, and hide behind that symbol to attack other religions, then my point will give them some perspective.

Swamiji once observed "there is no denser presence of low-lifers/folk devils (tamasik) in the world than in india" & we won't need to go far in search of living proof evidenced by some of the posts here on rediff.
