Today, where are those Painted/Dented ladies, candle holding Vigilanties and NGO's of Delhi, when a Minor Girl of 7 Years while in school got raped and Brutalised.

Is it Becoz this time, no Liqour and Drugs were made available.

It may be becoz of lack of Three things, Liqour, Drugs and shortage of CANDLES.

Another Reason may be, the Dented and painted ladies often travel in bus but are grown up to go to school.

So,they dont have to feel insecured in school as is the case while traveling at night in bus.

I think congres has a high record of having rapists. I think Sonia should demolise the congress party and should go to Himalaya .

by W Farnando on Mar 02, 2013 11:55 AM

Churchill once said that India would have corrupt people in governance. He forgot to include rapist in the list .What a shame an Indian politician and a raja sabha member is going to preside over the fate of rape victim when he has been raping kerala underprivileged girls when he was young. Now he would not do it because of his age,Still Raja sabha how can they sit members how can they sit along side a rapist.

Who is listening ?
by AnnanThampi on Feb 27, 2013 08:55 AM  | Hide replies

PJ Kurien's Suryanelli became an issue because the entire nation and the women in particular are focussing on the atrocities committed by men! The women wants a new law for their safety and security! In fact, they want it as a tool to fight against any man in this country! Once they get it as a "Brahmastr" they can use it against any man and make any man silent! The first victim is PJ!! CPM is actively involved in this dirty politics! BJP is bet'n Hell and Heaven!

Had Delhi Case not happened the present case of PJ would not have happened this time around after the fire was extinguished 17 years ago!

Now the CPM wants to use the new ruling of SC in the name of women, and use it against their rivals! The reason is simple, after Congress came to power, they effectively clipped the CPM's killing Politics and clipped the notorious leaders in CPM! CPM lost their image and now ppl in the state look CPM as a Gunda Gang! When they lost their reputation and many of their leaders are behind the bars, they want to take a sweat revenge: They are taking the old wine in a new bottle! The new law is helping them! They suddenly became saviors of women in the country!

The women associations want to use the new law as a killing weapon! But these women conveniently forget one thing: PJ's wife and his duaghter were psychologically harassed by these political parties and their consciousness - no women pay attention! They have no voice!

It is not just the christian mafia, is it?

What about Mr.Sukumaran Nair of the NSS who is sticking to the lie he told years ago that Kurien visited his office in Changanassery at 7 pm that day?

This fact is too inconvenient for you to consider and acknowledge?

Much as one would sympathise with the victim's family in the Delhi rape case, the direction of reaction taking place does not augur well.Much as the anti Dowri act being misused, the proposed act will also be misused more so to settle scores against political opponents. What we need is better implementation of existing laws rather than a plethora of new ones which again are unlikely to be used except for wrong purposes.

It is not CPM using it. CPM is only saying Kurien should stand on trial which he has never done. He always put pressure on the police so that no case was registered against him.
Is that a crime to ask someone to stand on trail when the victim accused him of raping her?

There are several cases where the parents have consented to but the girl herself has not; either she is a minor or as an adult she is unwilling. There are lakhs, if not millions, of such cases

Suresh S: you said only the church supported UDF at Piravom!
by piri on Feb 26, 2013 10:26 PM

That is a big exercise in self-delusion!

Do you really expect others to remain selective with their memories as you have chosen to do?

Both the Piravom and Neyyattinkara elections witnessed a rarely seen (only seen when common vested interests appear at stake) solidarity between the church, the NSS and the SNDP, didnt they?

At both places (especially at Piravom), when it began to appear that Mr. Achuthanandan's campaigns might upset the apple cart for the UDF, out came the church to canvas votes supposedly in the name of God!

And who supported the church in this venture with their own version of communalism - the NSS led by Mr.Sukumaran Nair and the SNDP led by Vellapally Natesan!

Mr. Nair's karayogam workers went from house to house at Piravom during the closing stages of the campaign asking for votes for the UDF candidate (they were less prominent at Neyyattinkara as Nairs are not so numerically significant there).

Similarly, while Mr.Vellapally made noises on TV suggesting that his group would remain non-committal, his lackeys went around in Thiruvankulam, Mulanthuruthy and a few other panchayats discreetly telling voters that Mr.M J Jacob (the LDF candidate) should not come to power!

Why did these so called hindu groups campaign so actively for the UDF?

Only because of one reason -Mr.Achuthanandan spurned their overtures to form communal alliances (just like he spurned the overtures of the Muslim League before the 2011 assembly elections)!

PJ Kurien case has much more to it what meets the eye !!
by ajai cs on Feb 26, 2013 09:22 PM  | Hide replies

This case is much more than what meets the eye. It is a cocktail of prostitution, rape and blackmail - involving Congress,BJP &CPM leaders!

A side story is the internal factional feud between Achutanandan and Pinarayi groups in the CPM!. It was a CPM chief minister E.K Nayanar who personally took the decision that PJ Kurien need not be proceeded against in this case. The people who were part of EK Nayanar's core team in that decision making is part of the Pinarayi group in CPM. Some Achuthanandan group members are keen on exposing the match fixing between Congress and CPM in Suryanelli case. So PJ Kurien case has much more to it that meets the eye !!

Not entirely right.

Mr.Nayanar just went by the report filed by Mr. Sibi Mathew, the police officer investigating the case. Mr.Nayanar was in failing health and had been reduced to going through the motions of being CM. He knew nothing more about the case and did not give it much thought!
