The demands raised by the unions are meaningless.The forcible closure of commercial establishments and stopping workers to reach their places of work are irresponsible and undemocratic.Every individual has her/his personal perspective on various issues and the trade unions cannot force their views on others and curtail the freedom of an individual or an opposing group.

Gulf Mallus and rubber estate owners are not fit to comment on trade union's demand because they never worked as a worker and think workers have low IQ or thinking capability

Can you please elaborate which is better democratic option which will yield fruits to solve the problem? Now a days not even a single democratic option is proving successful.

OK, Trade Unions are to help the workers. But have these Unions ever taken steps / raised voice to pursue its fellow workers to work honestly, for increasing productivity, to help to develope the nation/

The Government should use force to maintain normal life of person who have nothing to with this strike. Trade unionist want all income of the government should reach them. The person who died should have respected the right of driver to work also

salesjb when the prices of petrol is increased daily what are these unions doing, they ask for increase in fares and more salary. Unions like INTUC supports the government for this decisions and today doing strike. what for to fool whom. Can't they put blockade for the petrol pumps for one week see then government will decrease the price.
