why
by sangeetha on Feb 08, 2013 07:34 PM  | Hide replies

why should they do ? Did anyone knew Manmohan Singh is going to be PM before 2004 elections ? India is not like britain or germany. No other nation has our diversity. Voter turnout and political awareness in those countries are much lower than ours. Indians love politics. We are rivetted by the seat tally of NDA and UPA as if it is cricket scoreboard. Why to deprieve Indians this joy by simplifying politics.

Apart from that selecting a leader before election is also deprieving the voters a chance to choose another leader. BJP has 3-4 prominent leaders and some of their allies also have eligible leaders. In the run-up to elections 2014, if crowd seem to favour one person, if one person is able to bring maximum seats , it is democratic to select that person. If Tamilnadu or Bihar chooses to send maximum number of NDA MPs to parliament, why shouldnt PM be selected as per their preference. On the other hand, if PM was chosen to please an ally and then that party is rejected by the voters, it will be unfair on voters.

Narasimha
Prime Ministerial Candidate
by Narasimha on Feb 08, 2013 04:14 PM

As far as Parliamentary Democracy is concerned the leader of the house will be elected by members of the house once elections are over, floor leaders from all the parties will be elected but majority party will elect their leader as Prime Minister. Even during the Nehru's regime also congress never went to elections with a pre elected candidate but people knew that Nehru is going to PM but there was a difference in the leadership with Patel, even Indira's time also people knew that she is going to PM but Congress never announced officially its candidate before elections. Even now they announced Rahul will lead the 2014 elections but never mentioned that he is going to be PM. In congress Gandhi dynasty is going on others do not have voice in congress obviously if congress wins he is going to be PM for India (it is very unfortunate for India). The culture of announcing the PM candidate started in India by BJP only by announcing Atalji's name at that time Congress said there is no need to announce the PM candidate name before elections, because if they announce Sonia's name people may not vote for congress because in inner consciousness every Indian is having that Indian origin they do not want as a PM. Now this writer who looks like staunch congress supporter writing all nonsense first let congress announce that Rahul is their PM candidate for 2014. They will not do it once ruling party announces than main opposition announces their candidate.

by Rohan Joshi on Feb 08, 2013 03:27 PM  | Hide replies

I have one question... If Modi ji is so intelligent and if ONLY he has made Gujarat shining...

why he is not sharing what he has done EXACTLY in Gujarat to make it a progressed state?? atleast to other BJP ruled states? why neighboring Rajasthan or MP could not get what he has done in Gujarat... Or why HP was lost .. why Dhumal ji was not advised by him on time how to make a PROGRESS in HP ? :P :P

From where these SMALL problems came my dear, when entire Gujarat is shining and no opposition to NaMo in Gujarat...

Or do you want to say REAL problems in Gujarat will come up which are kept under the carpet till now ??

You are free to talk about the 'REAL' problems, who is stopping you?

That is the strategy, let people like you talk and criticize in 'IF' scenario, when it has less potential to tarnish but is more like free publicity

If he is declared, even a long accusation has some weight

ha ha ha.. If there is no REAL problem.. nobody can TARNISH anybody's image...

images get tarnished when really a problem is done.. and is found out by people...
like Fishery scam... :D

Tarnishing image of an undeclared candidate is not easy, as it is like throwing stones in the dark,Got it?

Declare him when elections are announced, make him to lead the election campaign,

that is the right strategy

Shenoy says "The Janata Dal-United says it is opposed to Narendra Modi [ Images ]. The Shiv Sena [ Images ] says it would prefer Sushma Swaraj "

If JDu continues to oppose Modi, let BJP break its ties with Nitesh as he is anyway sliding on popularity. Next, JDu has no choice but to be with NDA as it cannot join Lallu UPA camp.

Next, SS has no major objection to Modi except he might overtake MH visavis Guj devp. But as PM he cannot favour unduly that too in a coalition. Even MNS is not averse to tie up with BJP.

BJD is anyway not with and will not be with BJP, instead it may join Cong post polls but much depends on tally.

ADMK Amma might join NDA as Modi got good rapport with her. That leaves Mamtadi who is anyway unpredictable even to God, but might still rejoin NDA as she cant be with Left.
