This is what democracy is all about. Various power centers try to influence the decision until a situation where most of them agree to converge on a certain decision at the right time, though some of them might feel that it is a compromise. In UK & US it is settled by internal elections, while in in many countries it is settled, post election results.
"Let us also not forget Dr Manmohan Singh's first term, when he became prime minister by default, and everyone from A Raja to Suresh Kalmadi did precisely what he wanted." !!! You need to substantiate this statement. The so called 2G allocation to Swan Telecom and Unitech happened in October 2007, in the first term of Mr. Singh. So much for fear of authority!!!

TVR Shenoy is not a known supporter of congress. He has made a correct observation. For opposing,at least before coming to power must be united. BJP istrying to quer the pitch by promoting Modi without endorsement of NDA partners. Is it aforegone coclussion that they are going to form a govt without oyher's support?
The congressmen cannot understand the struggle between personalities in a political party. They have been weaned on dynastic politics; obeying the high command faithfully without asking any questions is ingrained in them. Now when they see a power struggle they feel confused. To reassure themselves that what they are doing is not wrong, they have perforce to run down a legitimate power struggle in the opposition party.

When the time comes,NDA should go by the popular choice of the people of India instead of trying to please these anti Modi forces.

I remember aprogram on TV, when one of the AKALI leaders told BJP spokes person that BJP can not take PMs post which can be decided only after polls considering the number of seats won!!
Unlike Cong., BJP does not have a dynasty to follow the foot-steps and take over. It is truly a democratic party where everybody is free to talk, contest!!
This is good as a democracy but cannot unite party leaders. After all a dictator like a single man/woman can make thousands of rough/corrupt people listen to him/her, keep them silent and united. this is the case with Cong.
To control a country where most of citizens are rough and mentally illiterate, a more rougher boss with a stick is essential to keep unity.
It istime BJP has to accept the fact that if & if the want their PM, it has to be some one like Sushma or Arun Jaitley rather than Modi. We have to bear in mind that it will be a coalation and BJP can never have absolute majority. Coalation partners willnever want a firm man like Modi who can buldoz them. More over, state & central politics are different ball games and there are other leaders in BJP who will understand politicsat centre better than Modi! By pitching Modi as PM,BJP may loose the plan before it takes off!

Dear Kumar, Let us face the fact. If Modi becomes PM,he isthe only person who can showthe smaller & regional parties what they are worth for. In such a scenareo, do you think Mamata,Maya, SP & other parties including SS willsupport Modi? I think, it is better for ustohave a clean majority rather than paswans playing apivotal role in forming governments. Also, based on Mamatha's highhandedness since becoming CM, left may again get their foot-hold in in WB. I only pray that Modi should not be last in thisuncertain game.
