Truth!
by Sameer on Feb 06, 2013 04:53 PM  | Hide replies

The girls were forced to leave the band...shameful indeed! But it is not because of Mufti's fatwa. If the media would'nt have jumped to this issue and not made it such a hullaballoo about it, the girls may have just igonred the Mufti's saying and carried on as ususal, it is beacuse of this issue becoming nation wide headlines, the poor naive girls became scared to the most and had to quit. I do not understand why does the media take so much interest in anything concerning Islam? Fatwa" is just an opinion and Islam gives full right to its followers to accept or reject a fatwa, a fatwa is NEVER EVER binding!! It was mufti's opinion and nobody would have cared about it if they did nt want to. But it seems that the fatwas are affecting the media more than any one else. High time!!

Sanctimonious pr1cks blame the media for their own moral cowardice. Thank the media that the girls are safe, Else....
If the media had kept mum and those girls would have been killed by the Is1amist brothers. Just blaming the media will not do. The idiotic Mufti and all sundry clerics were already claiming that the girls performing on stage was a threat to Is1am.

Remember how the media came to the rescue of the Palghar girls who were hounded by the local police & some louts from the Sena?

Those who profess their faith most loudly and intimidate others are the biggest threat to society.

Any Religion interested only in its prestige and success, in its institutions and rituals and conformity, is worse than slavery! It is not disbelief that is dangerous to the world, it is Blind Faith!

Intimidation needs to be defined here. Why do you get intimidated by somebody who wears skull cap and sport a beard and goes to the masjid. He does not intimidate you...if you get intimidated its your fault not his!

Thats the misconception I was talking about. The fear of the other overpowering me is the root of all conflicts, try to get this fear away from our hearts and start trusting each other.

History proves otherwise! That is exactly why we have to be extra vigilant against the Is1amists. We can handle the nutcases or fringe elements from other faiths much more easily!

Which history are you talking about Jai babu, the "myth"istory as depicted by the sangh parivar? The fact remains having ruled the land for more than 1000 years, if they were extremsits would have conveted the entire land, but still we have only 20% muslims in India, Try to think rationally, the history which you read is coming from the same mindset who are having nightmares of "muslims overpowering us" ....High time to get over this now!!

Rule of Religion vs Rule of Law
by Tarun Bhatnagar on Feb 06, 2013 04:22 PM  | Hide replies

Any country where religious rules written hundreds and thousands of years ago continue to be spoken, followed and heard by masses of people is doomed. Everything must evolve with time and if any person, society, tradition, religion and nation does not evolve, it will degenerate into an abyss. Music is not allowed in Islam....from when ?? I love Mohd. Rafi's voice...Was he un-islamic to sing and perform ? I even shudder to think what such archaic and ill-begotten ideas would do a multicultural nation like India where the party that has rules for 95% of the duration since 1947 has only served to foster the divide and rule policy of the british. Minority vs Majority, Upper Caste vs Lower Caste, Your religion vs My religion, City vs Village.......There is no common thread of civic law that binds we all as Indians which says that INDIA FIRST....everything later. I just pray that in 2014, a new government is elected that stops all religious and caste based quotas in education and jobs, provides equal opportunity to each Indian to study in schools which have an Indian curriculum based in international standards. Please limit religion to homes and places of worship.....It best serves human beings their and their only !!

All bogus complaints to malign and remain seperaterists, Why not Kashmiris remain in peace, army or Police from rest of the country not required, why more than 10000 soldiers should give their life for Kashmir from rest of the country, Kashmir Police is enough to tackle you provided you all keep peace and harmoney.
