India was once proud to be a nation deep in cultural values. Proud of ancient civilization. Proud of its religious values. And proud of its rule of law. Now where has it gone? Least I can say is that it is the sea of greed, crime, and goondaism!

It was never. In fact the cultural values which you are mentioning are the basic reason for people behaving like beasts.
The virginity till marriage- A culture of India is bogus and it is mainly the reason for such acts.

It's not Indian culture it's male rape culture. Any country you go to has men that rape and harass women. It's not unique to India for men to engage in crime.
Good thought but to show our people are not so bad, the writer did not need to bring up the issue of tribals in Niyamgiri. The mining there is a controversial issue in that poverty stricken area and detractors of the protest believe Cong has been encouraging this revolt along with NGOs sponsored by churches because these elements dont really care abt the development of tribals. So its not as if all tribals are so sensible & nice. They too can be easily swayed.
Its just not one problem... we indians need stick and a slap... every sphere of life.. whether its driving on road... parking... gov offices... it pain that we are democracy... we donnt deserve we deserve a hard kick till we behave

We are bad everywhere ,agree . But change should come within ourselves. No point cribbing we Indians are like this ,liked that , we should inculcate good behaviour ourselves .
If this is such a rampant problem in India, I think one needs to reflect why this is so. Remember, when Indians were oppressed by the Raj for many years, they revolted. If men are oppressed, they will too.. I think women are going bar beyond sharing a shoulder to baring them totally.

Not only is an apology in order to the victim but we need to also publish an advisory to all female foreigners who visit India!
They should be instructed to travel in India in sizable numbers!
There is no need to try to hide what is now the worst kept secret in the world ---- Indian men are animals who will rep anything that even remotely looks like a female!
