Heros and zeros
by Orient Mystique on Sep 26, 2012 08:27 AM

Times of India today carries a quip by a congress spokesperson:

"The penchant of seeking to become a hero by adding zeros (in CAG Reports) does not mean a scam has taken place"

Lay man on the street observes that the zeros in UPA can never add up to heros.

CVC and the Coal Gate
by umesh tyagi on Sep 26, 2012 05:58 AM

It would be prudent if CVC himself resigns in the interest of a fair enquiry. In the Govt. a small lead against any official leads to suspension of the official why this case should be an exception. SC must take cognizance of this and direct the CVC.

What an investigation on 1.86 lakh crore!!!
by Ramesh on Sep 25, 2012 08:17 PM

Cong is corruopted to core and not willing to do any meaningful investigation. CBI's boss is CVC who involved in coal scam. CVC's boss is PM, who is involved in coal scam. PM's boss is Sonia, who is also involved in coal scam. Now, CBI is investigationg its boss, boss's boss and boss's, bosss's boss. We don't have to tell how this investigation will work.. This is exactly why Cong was adament to free CBI from govr control.. SC should interefer and form independent investigation.

Mr. Ajit Pawar and Dr. Manmohan Singh
by Purushottam Singi on Sep 25, 2012 05:55 PM

Without prejudicing role of Mr. Ajit Pawar in recently revealed irrigation scam in Maharashtra,we must laud him for keeping high statndards of morality in public life.
Dr. Manmohan Singh should follow Mr. Ajit Pawar. Further more, there are precedents in Congress party most glaringly set by Late lalbahadur Shashtri.
It is high time, Dr. Singh take the moral responsibility of all that have happened in his tenure as PM, and resign.
Dr. Singh set a moral precedent.

CBI CAG etc etc.We must ALSO bear in mind, that ALL departments of the Government, regardless of WHO is in power, is manned by persons with more or less similar traings and qualifications.Call them IAS, IPS, IAAS etc.Years ago as a kid, I recall MY father going on DEPUTATIONS, to other Government organistaions, which was indirectly in-house auditing. There were NO media exposures as we get NOW, but yes ALL was NOT hunkky dory then either.I also recall the jovial and some times sarcastic/caustic remarks that he used to pass while with his pals ALSO in similar positions. But I also recal NO issues went PUBLIC, but disiplinary actions were taken against erring departments/person etc. But there were ALSO instances of one-upmanship,and revengful acts, since personal issue also came up during investigations.I am SURE similar acts of ommission/commission are there even today. Only difference is that the general public was not in the know as we see today. Call it transparancy/ exposures etc.The sword of Damocles hung then as it hangs today, but with political, caste, geographical etc playing a major role.My perception.Hope investigating agencies are REALLY unravelling truth, and NOT going along in the direction the wind is blowing.
