do not blame our soldiers
by subodh jain on Nov 22, 2012 12:20 PM

Our soldiers are the bravest ever found on earth. What can you expect from our defense ministers who do not know the difference between the barrel of the gun and the trigger. Our ministers are soley responsible for 1962 debacle, the kandhar debacle(where our Def. minister escorted 3 terrorists), the Mumbai attack, the parliament attach ans so on. In near furture as well, we will not be surprised if more such attacks are seen.

Air Power in 1962
by raghavan vishwanathan on Nov 22, 2012 12:17 PM

Dear MP,
Perhaps the Air Chief's intent was to draw attention to the vastly improved capability of the IAF today than the 60s. The Chinese may ignore it at their peril. I have also found a failing in the thinking of our Stratagic thinkers. They make out the Chinese to be 10 ft tall while we are painted as midgets. Very defensive mindset indeed. Even today when the PLAAF's strength is based on 4000 fighters as opposed to 600 of ours. Of these 4000, I have seen many reference books which add close to 2500 Mig 19s. India retired the Mig 19 equivalent fighters in the 60s almost 50 yrs ago.

Nehru was the cause of defeat .He lacked leadership.A total failure.India lost huge territory under him.Till date we do not have courage to ask it back from
China.India is a weak country. Also our defence forces let us down badly in 1962.Very sad indeed

YOU ARE TOTALLY WRONG our defence forces DID NOT let us down badly in 1962. THEY were ill equipped with .303 rifles, and badly conditioned..they were not quite enough prepared for such an massive attack. still they fought bravely and stoped the yellow brigade on the tracks..the US airlifted with the required arms although late. NEVER BLAME OUR security forces..

this is absured, least to say. fighting a war in the high himalayan range is no joke..they have to be properly armed and clothed..and above all trained..we got independence only 1947 and within 15 years you do not expect to train the army in all terrains / battles. and the worse thing is India never expected that Friendly China will backstab us..(it is a failure of Government)KNOW THE FACTS BEFORE COMMENTING..
