cannot compare apples with oranges.....
by Pagan on Nov 07, 2012 09:36 PM  | Hide replies

In US most of the politicians and the voters r educated and a cultured lot, which is why democracy thrives and ushers peace and prosperity....

India on the other hand, has maximum number of illiterates in the world, and many of our politicians r fit to be in jails rather than in parliament.
What can u expect when uneducated, brainless ppl go out to vote.......
The result is; we get the netas that we currently have....

In democracy ppl get the govt, they deserve...... I guess, India doesn't deserve a better govt owing to its illiterate masses..
and this situation is not gonna improve in the near term. It would take hundreds of years for us to be even at half of what US political standards are today.

Indians vote with their heart and not with their brains. And our politicians have become masters at play acting and fooling people.

India is a sham democracy. India should have been made a military ruled state because our people are not fit for democracy.

Indians are emotional fools. That is why you can see betas, betis, bahus, daamads fooling people, educated or illiterate.

completely agree with u...
we r unfit case for democracy, bcoz most of the indians think of devising ways to break the law.....

just look at the simple example of traffic signals. one would understand the pathetic state of India's morality, culture, decency, respect for laws etc etc....

its very tough to educate the masses of this country....

Worth of being elected member in india
by Harish Wadhwani on Nov 07, 2012 09:25 PM

The worth of being MP/MLA in india is uch more then any elected member in US. You can earn good money ( off course by corruption), you have police and machinery on your feet.

The problems of Indians is not that Indians are more corrupt or less civilized than, lets say Americans. The problem is that Indians, as a rule, use less of their common sense and more of what they are led to believe - be it religion, politics, economy or whatever. It doesn't matter if these Indians live in India or Timbuktu or wherever. Pretty sad to think that we descend from those who had set up master cities when the rest of the world was still trying to figure out how to talk. I guess, we were the first to peak and so we are also the first to fall - I just hope that this downward phase will crest sooner rather than later because I for one certainly feel that I don't deserve to be labelled with the same collective as the rest of these, "Indians".

QUITE NATURAL
by AK Kumar on Nov 07, 2012 09:13 PM  | Hide replies

US satiates its hunger for violence by attacking other countries. India is useless in this respect ...it waits for its enemy to attack it and then rushes off to United Nations. That is why US elections are peaceful, India's is not. Every one has to burn up energy. We do it at home. US places it on others doors.
