The other side of it....
by kavi review on Nov 04, 2012 12:22 PM

Jaipal Reddy is like one of the best among the lot. The recent demotion has other angle to it. Jaipal Reddy is one of the senior most cabinet ministers from the Telangana region. Since the Prime Minister, Sonia, Congress and Center are playing games and want to dodge the issue of Telangana for ever, they want to remove all people related to Telangana from the higher circles of the Congress' powers. He is the source of inside information to the MPs from Telangana region and he is helping them to stay united and fight the Congress for going back on the promise made by Congress and Sonia. It is because of this PM and Sonia have demoted him. Sonia and PM are playing this dirty politics for the going back on their promise. Congress is not able to read the politics of the Andhra Pradesh state. If they don't full fill their promise, it will wipe out of the region for ever.

sheela is wrong about exxon mobil in america
by shilpy on Nov 04, 2012 09:07 AM

the obama administration is no friend of the "big oil" industry, exxon mobil being one of it. the fact is it is the republican party that has has the reputation of going on a limb for the oil friendly. for the record, obama actually nixed the huge keystone pipe line project which actually became one of the issues in this election. does sheela really not know this? i will repeat it: does sheela really not know this? how tragic!
contemplate yourself, sheela, for you are misleading the indian people.

jaipal reddy is claimed to be honest, why is he hanging around with gandhis, and so strongly and blindly supporting the corrupt gandhis? we know mm singh was touted to be clean, but later it turned out that he was a willing facilitator and enabler of corruption, being in the know of it, by his colleagues. a no-pressure common sensical decision shown to be taken here hardly sounds impresive much less heroic. btw, let's talk about his real performance: how many oil fields did he develop as the petroleum minister?
answer: zero.
did he tap more competitive sources of energy for india like modi has done?
answer: what's that? could you repeat that please?

i dont mean to run down mr. reddy specific to this ril thing.
sheela is double dealing here. she seeks to bailout reddy by just citing his "fondness for sonia". that's all : reddy is fond of sonia, so he is to excused that he can tolerate all the wrongs gandhis pile on the nation.
the point of the fact is a poison is being fed to the nation that gandhi-wrongs are not to be quetioned, and sheela is one of those feeders.

that's an extreme view. 2 years in office doesn't mean you can have oil fields mushroom all over the place right? Also i think the article is trying to laud his efforts for standing up to strong lobbies and not necessarily his performance overall as the petroleum minister. His liking for SOnia might well be a matter of fact being reported.

Jaipal Reddy-Honest?
by Ram Babu on Nov 04, 2012 06:26 AM  | Hide replies

He does not entertain anyone other than his own caste people! Cong to Janata Party to Cong, was minister in United Front Govt, won three times with the help of TDP against Cong!!!, forget about contribution to state, absolute zero to his district and constituency!!...Ms.Bhatt pl do your home work, for a journalist to know whether a minister is effective/honest etc...it is not necessary for an incident of such magnitude to take place...it would be known right from day one....remember?One swallow doesn't maketh a summer?

exactly, that's the way i see it too. the article provides no evidence that mr. reddy was under any unseemly pressure to take a wrong decision for the situation at hand that he had to deal with. he was not offered any bribe, nor was he goaded by gandhis_vadra. the claimed honesty, frankly, by the congressi author is underwhelming. the gandhis better not try to cash this "honesty" mirage like they milked mmsing's much touted but, as it turned out, non-existent honesty. so, when is sonia going abroad next?

Doubts about Rliance Gas Pricing ???
by premshanker gupta on Nov 03, 2012 09:58 PM

Does not it mean that top bosses in Congress are
Corrupt as they transferred an honest Minister,
who dared to refuse undue favours to Reliance?
CAG is also critical of Reliance for its way of working,
causing losses to Exchequer and adding to inflation.
Does not the whole matter deserve to be thoroughly
examined by a team of independent and reliable experts
so as to arrive at truth and dispel misconception, if any?
If this is not done, will it not mean that corruption has
become synonym of the present governance?

Rediff are you sure that Sheela Bhatt really wrote this article?
by sam puzhakkal on Nov 03, 2012 09:48 PM

Sheela Bhatt writing and accepting that Congress has been corrupt. Wow! either she is high on something, or Congress has reshuffled not just its ministers but its paid journalists too, and Sheela found out that she is a paid journalist without any portfolio.

So, now that no more paychecks will come her way from Congress headquarters, has she decided to start writing facts after all.

Sheela, have you decided to discontinue washing Sonia's used underwear and get back to real journalism, for a change?

Never late, I guess.
