Bandh for Subsidy in Petrol Prices Not acceptable
by Amarnath Acharya on May 31, 2012 12:31 PM  | Hide replies

Govt cannot and should not provide subsidy in petrol Prices like it provides for LPG,Diesel, CNG,Kerosene, Railway Tariffs etc etc as Subsidies are meant for poor people leaving below the poverty line and not for people who can afford to buy cars and bikes

At some stage, when prices of esential commodities are rising beyond control. The govt has to step in..... not worry about losses to state owned oil companies

I wonder whether u have within your ken the existence of words such as "domino efect", "cascading effect" etc ? If petro prices are hiked beyond reason, do u think prices of essential commodities will remain flatlined?

Try practising the good habits and teaching them..... that is the best way to start.

Have you ever tried picking up trash from the road and putting it in a dustbin atleast at places like schools and hospitals..... then we dont have the right to complain.

Why don't you leave this country, or take the path of educating people. If not, keep quiet.

Simply NDA and UPA are not in the same street
by Typhoid Mary on May 31, 2012 12:23 PM

When NDA, in a most nonplussing way, was ousted in 04 by the mokes of india, country's GDP, with a 8.5% fig,was booming which indeed was encomiastic bearing in mind what NDA inherited from the 3RD-Front govt in 97-98 i.e. a hindu rate of growth. It's todays news that the country's GDP in 11-12 plummeted to 6.5% and to top it all, since as per met office el nino danger is loomiong large during the 2nd half of this year's monsoon, masses are only going to live under further penalty of prise rise/inflation thanks to shockingly bad economic policies (is there any policy at all????) pursued by this knavish govt.

In actuality, people of this country are not accustomed to any genuine and tangible change reason being they mere sock puppets and just love to rise to the con-gressi bait of "garibi hatao", "con-gress ka haat aam admi ke sath" and such nonsensical stuff year in, year out. Pox on those who vote for a party which has been unleashing untold damage to the country since its inception in 1885.

I pity the hoi polloi of this snake-bitten 4th-world country.

Bandha and common man
by Ashok Mulik on May 31, 2012 11:47 AM  | Hide replies

Bandhs are politically motivated. Common man is forced to participate in such movements by the activists. Buses and many vehicles are either pelted, punctured or set on fire. It is simply a teroristic activity and the activists needs to be punished. Petrol prices are incresed to generate election funds which results to increase prices in the country. Such govts should be punished in the elections.

He is right there is full of subsidy, which is benefit for poor. All these taxes are avoided by rich, so it benefits them, the poor don't have to pay tax. So, who is left, but Middle Class. And middle class don't have time from their office/daily works and family life, after which they are too exhausted to go in to all this. The Rich and Poor are always happy, and all this Bandh will affect again the Middle Class, they would take risk going to work, school etc., to support their livelihood. All political parties are the same, in the end we the middle class will suffer for ever.

by ASHOK KUMAR on May 31, 2012 11:40 AM  | Hide replies

UPA may be wrong in increasing petrol prices so don't vote it.

BJP/NDA may be right to protest the increase in petrol prices so vote it.

But why a passenger or say crores of passengers in India, who have been stopped mid way, and are neither at their homes nor at the destination, and who have limited food, water and money with them, support the NDA for the difficulties created by the NDA?

Are these passengers responsible for the price increase?

Is punishing the innocent and tired passengers for the sins of UPA right?

The BJP/NDA/SP/Mamta bandh companies took breakfast, drank lots of water, slept the whole night and in the morning went out of their home to stop the passing railways, buses and so on.

Will the baandh walas please stop drinking water, taking food, stop breathing to make the baandh a true baandh OR terrorising innocent passengers is called BAANDH.

Will the BJP/NDA/SP/TMC shed some light on this aspect?

Though i dont like the concept of bandh, its required to move this thick skinned anti people UPA. Pices of essentials have rised many fold in the past 8 years of UPA. They getting away with it coz media actively supporting their action.
I remember how media brought down BJP state govt in delhi when a onion price rised. But now media is silent!!
