This issue seems to be completely fabricated by the opposition. If Chidambram would have wanted to take bribe, it would have run into crores than why a paltry sum of 26 lakhs? This much amount doesn't suits a person at Cabinet Ministers level

This is why you should not be a new blogger. You enter into a company paying a small sum and exit getting a huge amount. 26 lakhs is not the bribe

it should be noted here that, chidu said in the parliament that this amount was received for advisory services, which was wrong because the company was showing this amount under loans and advances......
This is a typical structure where Inter corporate loans route is misused to do dubious transaction through SPVs which has no business interest. I am not able to understand why Company law allow for setting Companies which does not intend to carry on Business activities rather set up as non operating Company

if a checkpoint is introduced in inter corporate loan route also India will become most hostile to do business. rather investigating agencies need to be strengthened and given autonomous power to investigate such things without getting influenced by politicians
This is just speculation and nothing else. Any auditor worth his salt will tell you that there is no evidence at all except allegations.
This is just like the so-called "Coal Scam" by the PMO in giving mines on first-come-first serve basis. Fact is that there were no buyers in those days and the govt gave subsides to ensure this dormant mines were opened for prodn. When this report was published, there was alot of noise by the media nd oppn, but today even the oopn. ackknowledges that the so called "coal scam" was nothing but imaginative media interpretation. But what about the time a lost inparliament and the important bills which cud not be passed due to this ruckus? No Accountability for that.
This so called scam of involvement of Chidambaram in Maxis deal is a similar case of media hype and oppn using it to logjam parliament.
Simple example - The SC in its ordewr says that govt shud auction all natural resources. BJP ruled Gujarat has given 400 acres of Land to Tata's to set up Nano factory in the hope it will bring development to Gujarat. So will the BJP ask for CBI probe against this too as the land was alloted at way below market price and not auctioned as the SC had asked.
This is sheer nonsense and wasting precious time which parliament shud devote to legislation instead of debating cartoons in text books.

why dont you file a case against Gujarat govt if u feel that this was wrong. Spirit of law would always prevail over letter of law and in all these cases people find gaps in letter of law to defeat the spirit of law

moro*#n, my point is that the BJP govt was right in alloting the land and not auctioning it, what wud be wrong wud be if somebody made that an issue and logjammed gujarat assembly and did not let any bill pass.
That is what we shud not do as legislature shud pass important legislation to keep the economy growing.

Your point of view needs to be directed at the value & demand of item being givenaway. The Gujrat Sarkar gave land for development which will also directly generate employment & economy of Gujrat, also the resource, i.e. land given was not sought after & in the event of auction it might not have even sold. hence the decision of gujrat government is justified, even the law of land says govt may give a resource under concession if it will directly help the people. Now coming to the PC deal, first of all the resource given were soought after & an auction would have raised atleast 10 times the price, secondly the main profit was given to private party & that too foreign, thirdly there is little if any scope of the resource being given back to people. finally the latter was unlawfull because the decisions were finacially motivated. hence you shoul shut your trap & not sprout nonsense just because you can.

it is not alloting land that is wrong, but to take a bribe for it and make it look like business as usual is what is wrong. gujarat govt openly declared it has allocated land to tatas for doing business. but the congress govt tried to hide the spectrum issue
