military exercise in Thar desert
by manmohan bala on Mar 14, 2012 08:54 PM  | Hide replies

I am sure this exercise will not only sharpen the tactics & strategies but also deter Pakistan from any misadventure in the Thar region.

Pakistan is not as dreadful as US to India. What do you mean by sharpen the tactics of Indians? Indian Army is #1 in the world, and Indian Navy is #3 in the world.

That does not mean you cannot learn from others. To some extent the Indian army will also be exposed to culture and methods of the US army, which can only do good.

Americans wants to copy India
by nilesh thakkar on Mar 14, 2012 04:15 PM  | Hide replies

Americans wants to copy the style of India army warfare and they are fearful in handling ground situations. They are highly dependent on technology and less on humand brains thus they have to come to india to learn

please check your history knowledge, US has not won any war. It was beaten pathetically by every country against whom it treacherously waged wars. for Eg. Vietnam is a tiny country which threw out the US mercilessly after North vs. South Vietnam war, which was an effort by US to erase communism in Vietnam.

True to some extent. Indian army has better experience with dealing with ground realities, since tehy do it daily along porous borders. American army probably has better capability to use technology. So i guess both sides will learn something, provided they are willing to learn.

What do you mean by 'Sonia Khan?'

Sonia Gandhi is an italian and she is playing her italian card to the hilt by bringing USA closer to India.

That angle is possible but what's wrong with the US and India being close? Watch out for India's interests and nothing else should bias you.

Javeed, dont let your biases against the US taint what India's interests should be. You are Indian I presume and you should be looking out for India's interests. If these exercises help India Idia should do them regardless of what the Islamic worls thinks of the US. Unless you have evidence and a strong reason why India should not do them..
