Why not?
by rex on Jul 03, 2012 04:40 PM

Why not? I think we are No. 1 in denying the much required support to our legislators. Only 1 or 2 stated have the provision of providing assistants to its legislators. How are they supposed to work alone to solve our serious issues? And I strongly feel that if the legislators are well paid and well treated, more than 80% of political corruption will end. In a big State like UP, some constituencies are as big as a district in smaller States and it might take a full day just to travel from one place to another. If officers like Thasildars and Block Development Officers can have Cars/Jeeps and support staff, why not the MLAs? Are they not supposed to have first hand information on what’s happening at least in their constituencies? And why should only the public workers expected to spend money out of their pockets to solve our issues? We have long before adapted and admitted that we require Ministers, MLAs and even petty public workers who don’t hold any post at all, and we appreciate their roles only when we have some issues to solve and afterwards we call them eaters of public money. Well if we do not want them, there’s just one solution; all of us start obeying every piece of law in this land; however trivial or irrelevant they may be…..

Such a pity . They are supposed to please the people of the state with their good work. Not appeasement of MLAs or a section of the citizens

Mahatma Gandhi who started the politics of appeasement, must be resting in peace of completely distroying the body polity of India

His mission of appeasement was successfuly carried forwards by the likes of Nehru, Indira Gandhi MMS( read Sonia Gandhi) . Long live Akhilesh . He can oversea the complete decay of UP

You are correct. It is shameful for the people who elected them. It is open authorised violation. Court should intervene in this.

Two parties, one aim
by subramanian padmanabhan on Jul 03, 2012 04:33 PM

Samajwadi now intends to spend govt money on mobile transports whereas the BSP soent huge money on ommobile transport(elephant statues).
So, there is apparently no difference between them. The intention is common - eat the govt money which is poor mans tax - directly or indirectly.Well UP is shining and becomes more mobile, whereas the people too are migrant as they takeup any kind of jobs in other states. People have to survive somehow. It may be a curse for the people in having born in UP but for the politicians it is heaven now.
INDIA SHINES. The people are welcome by other parts of India as cheap labour under the slogan"Adithi Devo Bava"

These are the decisions an inexperienced and ignorant guy will take if all of a sudden he is made the CM of a state by his father who fools the people by attractive slogans to win votes. The people for their part are willing to fall from the frying pan to the fire so no sympathy for them also.
