It should not have been washed with pressure water but simply cleaned by using brushes that too with some cleanser . By the way ,Pink and red sand stone will retain it`s natural colour but where colourless patches have emerged, in fact, the same is not the fadding of traditional colour but stone appears to have shaded it` upper layer. I am a staunch hindu and a firm supporter of BJP. I will try whatever I can to get the party to re-build the churches destroyed in Odhisa, the babri masjid in UP and any other religious sites that have been vandalized in the country. My religion and country has taught me to be tolerant, loving and respectful to all people of all religions, ethnicities. Keep hatred for none and hope for all.
This is how the system works in India .No proactive discussion whether there could be some other way to spruce up the monument is available as the color of that age were not synthetic washable colors that could be washed clean again and again. Some sort of homework before embarking on this maiden venture with consultation with experts should have been undertaken. regards, joydeep from panvel navi mumbai.
