my heart is sinking

My heart is sinking by knowing that she died due to sexual brutality with an iron rod she faced, after the gang rap. How a human being can do that. Hang them in public without delay, without trail.

You need to read up on what Mahatma Gandhi told about violence vs cowardice.

Do you know that Mahatma Gandhi has declared stated the following: Let is be know to Pakistan that if they continue sending insurgents into India then they must not mistake India's peaceful stance for cowardice. Pakistan must know that India stands prepared and ready for war with Pakistan if they do not understand the language of Peace.

His other statement was: Between cowardice and violence I will always choose violence!

That man was brave. Not a fool.

He was the only person among Indian leaders then when world war 2 started, who declared that it is the duty of Indian soldiers to participate in the world war and attack the German and other axis forces!

Gandhi had no tolerance forrapists and murders.

Though The Pai For Them wont be Comparable to What This Little Angel Faced at Their Hands But Atleast it will give her Soul Some Peace
& These Cowards Bast@@ds Taste of their own Recipe If Law Has Some Issued Kindly Leave Them at India Gate or Jantar Mantar Natural Law will Take its Own Course
But No Citizen of New Delhi Will Ever Forget That ROD & Sure would Like to Shove it into These 6 Morons

North Indian animals are capable of anything. They consider this their bravery.

Have you visited Delhi. For someone who has lived in the South states or Maharashtra the change in culture, rather the absence of cultured people, in Delhi is shocking.

It is amazing how people in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra and Maharashtra extend basic courtesy to fellow citizens. Even for a huge city like Mumbai, people stand in queues at bus stops. Women in Mumbai are safe to travel, and do travel, at 1 in the morning.

Delhi is a jungle where the north indian culture is on full display. People rarely form a queue. If you politely ask someone to please get in a queue, the immediate rude response from the North Indian will be: Why? If you are smart and courageous, why dont you also break the line?

Delhi is the only one metro for the whole of north India. So the uncultured people from all north Indian states descend there.

Now we have Delhi CM stating that influx of people from neighboring states is what is causing problems in Delhi. Somehow when secular Shiela Dixit states that fact it is NOT controversial. When people in Mumbai say the exact same thing, that, these North Indians coming into Mumbai breeds more filth and crime, that becomes such a huge controversy.

Long story short, the problem is the north indian talibani culture. These khap panchayatis will go from bad to worse. India should be prepared to see even worse cases. Actually worse cases are happening right now.

Across all life forms males are the agressor when it comes to m@ting. You dont see a hen running behind a c@ck to mate do you?

The basic trait of that activity is agression and 'enforcing', but humans by virtue of having been blessed with intelligence and social/ethical virtues, don't indulge in such aggression or enforcement. But some weak individuals do turn into beasts sometimes so the only way to prevent is not to preach but to have a preventive mechanism with corruption free enforcement of the law.

I pity your knowledge. It is not north or south .it is the mental behaviour of person . where is kerala [ north or west]For your information. A father and his son have been raping their daughter and real sister. They have been doing this to the elder sister also who committed suicide later. So stop this nonsence of north or south. The fact is that in our country crime against women is on the increase and we need to amend our laws to tackle it.

Very valid point Gursharan. These crimes happen all over the world, and that does not in any way reduce the barbarity of the crime itself.

You are right about that particular case in Kerala.

That said, Kerala has by and large a very vigilant and activist bunch of people who take their police and politicians to task. Such incidents create a huge furore in Kerala and tremendous pressure is brought on the police and politicians when such incident happen. For one of the most law abiding state, Kerala registers among the most number of crimes, big and small. That is because people force the police to register crimes including FIRs registered against the police.

I have travelled extensively across India, and I must tell you that the sheer lawlessness, lack of civic avenues, lack of basic human courtesies, and absolute disregard for women, general level of filth, increases as you go north. When it comes to eve teasing, surprising Punjab and Kashmir are the worst parts of India. I had expected better things from Punjab, but travelling with a female friend in Punjab is a tough experience. Much worse than even Haryana or UP and Bihar. The most surprising offenders were kashmiri men. It is as if they have never seen a woman in their life other than their family members. Visiting north India, with a white female friend, opens your eyes to the true nature of North India men.

South India was a totally different experience for my companion. North is talibani jungle.

without good law and order no country can survive. First make good laws. We copied laws from British and then changed according to our politicians taste (I believe Nehru also involved with it). Go and copy USA laws and see the magic.

We need to see what is best fit law for us. The north Indian beasts do bulk of the raping. But the civilized south indian citizens suffer due to the strict rape laws, which will curb their freedom.

Women's safety
by Suresh Menon on Dec 31, 2012 11:35 AM  | Hide replies

There is a three-pronged approach that is required from the govt.

Govt has to gradually bring out a change by better quality education, bring more people into mainstream however long and painful a task that is. Secondly (and no less important), strong laws are required to deal with the menace with justice delivered through special courts. Thirdly better policing of public places and enforcement of laws.

Above all from the individual's perspective: DO NOT venture out when the place is risky and time is too late. Even I, being a man, is scared to go to some places in the town during late hours. You can be assualted or harmed for any reason. That being the case for even men, the less said about females, the better.

Having a male company is no use, when confronted with 5-6 hungry beasts, unless the man that accompanies you is a Chulbul Pandey or a Baasha which of course is a fictional scenario. You don't go into a forest packed with carnivores assuming that the laws will protect you. Safety is primarily the responsibility of the individual.

Rape Laws are bound to be misused:
-------------------------------------
1.Prostitutes will misuse the rape law to extract money from their clients by using Rape Law as black mailing tool.
2.women will harass their male co-workers with rape cases if they are not promoted/compensated well.

To prevent Rapes:
-----------------
1.Prostitution should be legalized.
2.Adolescents should be married, probably the age of marriage should be reduced to 16 years. Early marriage should be encouraged.
3.women should dress up decently in public and not venture out late nights.
4.Women should not board unknown private vehicles or move with their boy friends in public.

Past Misuses of women based laws in India:
------------------------------------------
Already women are misusing the laws made for women in India. You can check the judgements by supreme court of India. The judges of supreme court itself have acknowledged this fact.

Famous false rape cases:
------------------------
1.Julian Assange was falsely accused of Rape, as many international governments conspired on him.
2.IMF chief was also accused falsely of rape charges and was removed from his position.
3.Our own bollywood personalities Anu Mallik and Madhur Bhandarker were falsely accused of Rape
4.Supreme court had also dismissed a false Rape Case on Rahul Gandhi, Son of our Congress chief Sonia Gandhi.

Even Women can Rape:
--------------------
Indecently dressing up to attract males is an act of Rape on men.

there was a story in Panchthanthra. Lion scolding a lamb drinking water downstream..that it was polluting lion's drinking water who loves upstream! And then, lamb desrved to be killed! and lion had some solid stuff too along with water..thats it!How can man call himself man when he can not protect women? Remembe Panchali shouting at Dhritharasthtra and Bheeshma...the chairmen of the Indraprastha court...How do yu call this a Royal court when it doesnt respect a woman? Yes it resounds now too, how do you call this a democracy when it can not respect rights of woman who are half of the population? It makes laws and sections and subsections to respect right of castes, creeds, religious and linguistinc minorities even if that encourages disintegration of the nation...may be women in India should decide that they would not vote for those who dont respect women rights..leave aside secularism...

Just goes to show that unfortunately we live in a world where we have to tolerate and reeducate people like you. It pains me to read your views, u may have a degree but u certainly dont understand human values. I do hope that better sense would prevail among ur class of people and perhaps you would one day perhaps shed your ignorance.

that goes for all the rapes done in the name of religion during partition too. and that was perpetuated by all those who demanded a country in the name of religion. So please stop crying victim. You people have too stooped to committing the same crimes when you had the upper hand. History has proven it.
