We raise so many questions on western culture yet the number of cases are so so so minimal compared to India... no wonder we are so so great culturally

I think Syz was sarcastic.
Vishal, I think you are right about that these things would still be happening even if you have harsh laws, but I think the point is different. You cannot stop criminals from committing crimes just by laws. I think the most outrageous thing is when a victim is not supported and the criminals are not prosecuted to the fullest extent because of callousness of the law keepers or for some other reasons. In case of rape victims, the victims are looked down upon, which is an evil of our society. If you think what we call rape in Hindi – izzat lootna. I don’t think you can take away honor from the woman who is raped. She is a victim of a criminal act. This mindset needs to change. I am not trying to be a preacher here, I just feel a tremendous pain on how our society behaves. I hope Damini’s death doesn’t go in vein, I hope it changes our mindset as a society.

I am not sarcastic. If you think about Draupadi, the incident happened about 2500 years ago and same thing is continuing today. Can this be called a new trend? I don't think so. It is in our culture. Although it sounds bitter, but its true. If you want to change it, you have to change yourself; no law can stop this.

I am not talking about the incidents, I hope you were sarcastic about the culture and you think that it's a big deal. If we don't think it's a big deal, then it can never be changed.

that is next step to think of . everything cannot be detailed in one go...things mature. like you matured with your age
Many rape victims are there in India. Many are reporting where many are not. But the only way to control all this stupidity is the "FAST & CORRECT JUDGEMENT" and the Punishment should not be forgotten by him in his entire life. The main worse thing about our India is "The politics".

No before legalities ...society must bring fear they will meet a hazardous reply...at their risk
