this is clear abuse of law....that lady helping poor ladies has been made a scapegoat from the people exploiting other women to which she was acting like a shield......we need immideate police action....entire public whosoever laid hands on that women needs to be arrested......this is India not Taliban

If she was doing all those good things, does it give her a right to have illicit relationship?

Having said that, two wrongs cannot make one right

Kiran Kumar - Both should be seen DIFFERENTLY - As you say, doing some good things does not necessarily give anyone the right to indulge in any wrong. But then, is this the only case of adultery in India, or near and around the place. The last execution in India saw the accused being given a free and more than fair trial. He also had all opportunities of appeal and seeking mercy from the President of India. He was part of a squad which killed 166 people. What did this woman do to face " execution " Please tell me Kiran, if you have valid and substantive reasons to defend YOUR STATEMENT ????

Yes, justice needs to be done to the victim(s).

But, do we know why and how these kind of panchayath's or goond@ settlements continue to exist? Because, everyone knows this is wrong way to do justice. But, no one knows what is right way of handling it. 'Go to court' is very easy to say, how many can afford the court fees, pay the lawyer fees, have proofs that are acceptable to courts, wait for each adjournment and break their work to attend the court, return back because judge is on leave, lawyer (any one side) could not appear, case not called because other cases took too long and day ended. Convince and bring witnesses, bear their expenses. For about 15-20 years. Then goto higher court because your opponent used money and power to influence the judgement.

All this, just to prove culprit a culprit? To get rid of a $winger out of your life. In today's age, when this have to happen instantly, people prefer throwing away their lives to grab the justice they want, rather than spend rest of their lives at the mercy of procedure codes of the courts.

If high profile cases like that of Naina Sahni with clear proofs can drag for 17 years and still not concluded, how much time, effort and money will it take from a common villager to give him justice?
