20 million bngladeshis in India...wake up
by DEBRAJ BHATTACHARYA on Aug 28, 2012 12:22 PM  | Hide replies

Today there are 20 million bangladeshi feeding in our resources.Assam state's Chief Ministr Mr. Tarun, has been telling till now, that there are no Bangladeshis in Assam, but truth is something else. The population of Bengali-speaking Muslims (illegal immigrants from Bangladesh) in Assam has increased about 25 per cent over the last 5-6 years. Most of the immigrant population is concentrated in Lower Assam or Western Assam mostly in the districts of Dhubri (79%), Barpeta (59%), Goalpara (54%), etc. It is worth telling that Assam is part of North East India, a region connected with India through a narrow corridor of 24 kms known as the Siliguri Corridor which is shared between the Indian state of West Bengal with Assam, and the rest of North East. Two districts of Assam, namely Kokrajhar and Dhubri connects the siliguri corridor with North East India. With Dhubri consisting of 79% of Bengali-speaking Muslims (read - Illegal immigrants from Bangladesh), Kokrajhar is but of course their favourite district to consider next.Post formation of Bodoland Territory Council, with headquarter at Kokrajhar, economy of this place has seen considerable increase, due to Govt. of India's fund for development in the region. Due to this opportunity, more and more illegal immigrants are migrating from Bangladesh

History of Assam

People should know history of Assam before commenting. It is a very complex history. Assam was never part of India. Most of the people in Assam are outsiders and settled over the years.

20 million illegal bangladeshis in India

Today there are 20 million bangladeshi feeding in our resources.Assam state's Chief Minister Mr. Tarun Gogoi, has been telling till now, that there are no Bangladeshis in Assam, but truth is something else. Why does BJP put it in such large scale that the present govt. is forced to act against them? I know there has been few voices but after few days everything will be forgotten.
Need for a mechanism
by RamRahim on Aug 28, 2012 11:41 AM  | Hide replies

There is no mechanism or institutional set up to identify and deport illegal migrants right from the National Level down to the village/ward level. The Adhar project should be revived and immeduately a national population register need to be prepared with biometrics. All fears about the misuse of biological data are misplaced and are put forward by vested political intersts (vote bank politics). The security of data should be the responsibility of the Central government. The final list should be prepared based on cross validation of data from various sorces like voterlist, ration cards, hospital records, Anganwadi Records, land records, and Panchayat records. The year 1971 should be taken as the year of recknoning. All people who have migrated from Bangladesh after this date should be disenfrenchised and have no prperty or land rights. However, work permits should be issued to those living in India for more than 25 years. While the rest should be identified and deported. It is funny to argue that while they can move from Bangladesh to India easlily and undected because of porous border the reverse can not take place due to activeness of bangladeshi rifles. By arguing so, do we want to say that while Bangladesh rifles can protect their borders well, we can not? Are they more and better equipped than us? But no party will go for such systems as long as majority hindus are divided along caste and rehional lines as it would be politically disastrous for any party espousing this.

Have u seen Hindi film. The heroine pleading mercy from the villain. Does the villain ever oblige? You are greatly mistaken to believe that your Sonia will ever listen to u. She will listen to Imam bukahri of Jama Masjid and sundry minority leaders and arrest Brahma. You can not get justice by pleading. Democracy shows you the way to solve ur problems. Will u get united this time to throw psedo-secularists out of power? Only a unity among Hindus across castes and regions will force Sonia and others to take a tough stand on illegal infiltration. Otherwise, people will keep barking and politicians paying no heed.
