CAG report is based on just the figures and numbers. They are doing their duty with honesty and sincerity.
But running a nation is not a simple thing like mathematics. Government has to consider many scenarios, methods and its effectiveness to combat and control the urgent needs of the nation, well in advance, before falling to some critical supply and demand imbalances which will take years to rectify. A growing and developing nation like India have huge demands for the fuel such as Coal. Just few mining companies will not be able to meet the growing demand for the same at this juncture. The heavy industries like Steel and Cement companies along with the Power sector needs large quantities of Coal. If we fall short of their demand the Indian growth story will come to a grinding halt and it will hurt the whole nation. Thus government do have the responsibility and authority to take suitable policy decisions to support these sectors. To my understanding, the government have taken a very bold step in alloting the coal mines to the private companies for developing the mines to increase the coal production in India. This is a policy decision by the Government of India which has been taken in the best interest of the nation.
Now coming back to CAG report on this, one of the major allegation was that these private companies have got the direct benefit of the coal allocation. What is wrong in it? , when it is in the best interest of the nation as a whole.

Dear Josua, If u have ever had economics in ur school syllabus then i m sure u must have cheated to pass the paper.
If there were a heavy demand of coal then what was the point in delaying the process??? Due to the absence of bidding and deliberate delaying our nation lost 2 lakh crore which was meant for u, me and all of us, called "Taxpayers". Bcoz of all these scams we loose crores of crores of money and inflation goes on rising. Dont tell me u wont be happy to buy arhar dal for Rs 30 per kilo, and sugar Rs 15 per kilo.
Coming to growth...India recorded the lowest growth in last 5 years, and con gr ass is ruling the country since 12 yrs. Was this worth??? Can u plz tell me what will u do with industrial growth if u can not ur family? A day will come when a laptop will cost Rs 100 and Sugar will cost Rs 200 per kilo.

I do not understand the psyco process behind all these accusations. Look at the Delhi Airport case, if the Govt. case, if the govt looks at the public benefit & sets an agreement on condition end cost to public is limited & stands by it it stands accused of favoring DIAL or receiving money under the table and if it looks at public exchequer benefit it is accused of being a shylock. There is no end to this nonsense. In case of the "coalgate" if the govt felt that it should stabilise prices in 2005 that in 2010 inflation could be controlled by low coal prices to generating firms it is accused of benefiting the private/govt firms and if the electricity bill rises by Rs 5 ten buses are burned in protest. ARE WE FIT FOR DEMOCRACY? I have no affiliation to anyone so i am looking at it both ways.

If there are multiple takers for these freely available natural resources then there has to be bidding among st them.
Else from these loot the so called local and national mafia gets richer and these pseudo Industrialist flexes their muscle back to ordinary people by grabbing their agricultural land.
The process is called getting rich.
The immediate benefits reach to these Self professed industrialist and ministers. To state capitals and Raisina hills . And we have pockets of chamak dhamak in these pot holes of the country.
Common man are left with inflation and fiscal deficit.
This is how India continues to remain traditionally poor and garib.
Funny part is these so called smart guys think no one knows it.
They will come with waving hands in election time "Hame garibi hatana hain".

If this is a scam then there is even bigger scam running in the Panchayath level (at least in my Panchayath) through the MGNREGS. Through the MGNREGS you can get the manual workers to work at the agriculture land of the individuals. The Government pay their daily wages. The individuals who owns the agriculture land gets the direct benefit. But I know that this is in the best interest of the nation, to give the rural employment for the masses and to increase the agricultural production.
If these types of allegations continue, I am sure that no government will dare to take any policy decision, fearing the scam allegations. Our nation will get stuck and suffer with out the right policy decisons at the correct time.

i dont understand your claim first. Is UPA govt suported by BJP? Why UPA can't convince its own suporting parties. Why BJP should suport if there reform are not good. If BJP comes to power they will also do the reforms. all they are telling is make it proper so that they dont keep making such scams like in 2G, Coal etc
