No doubt that AgniV is a deterrent against China but against Pakistan it is not going to make much difference as range of Pakistani Missiles covers whole of India for which India already had missiles with effective range
Why would China invade India? What would it get? China would be more happier to sell Chinese goods to India than to wage war against India. Why would they want to lose the Indian market? Even if they invade India, what would they gain? The biggest deterrent India has against China is the Indian market. Pakistan, on the other hand, is a different story and has to be dealt with differently. But by launching this against China, all China has to do is to encourage Islamic militants from Pakistan.

correct, the convert from same blood to cut same blood has been used before. When France, USA, AngrezLand can co-exist and keep on developing their super power as NATO and push their policies. Chinese should re-consider their policies within the region.
Russians have tactical connect with above. And each develops their own security solutions unlike certain import and kickback dependent nation.

It is not a race to overpower anyone. It is just a deterrent. It prevents China from attacking India. Just see how Iran thing has played out. Though Iran military is a minuscule threat to big guys like US, they dare not attack because of the possibility of nuclear weapon. Hypothetically, if China attacks India, it would be foolish to assume US will not take India's sides - not out of love but out of ompulsion to be in the super power race.

Congratulation to Scientist community to achieve this feat. Now maturity of our political and defence direction is required to gain fruit of this achievement. Deploy sufficient missile to counter possible threat and it will indirectly improve our supplier base industries. Of course corruption should not spoil this too.

One can put a wager the minute demonstrates megaton fusion device and resolve to defend it territory, Chinese insidious and persistent enchroachment of of the territory will come to halt. Agree with you. However one launch does not a missile make. You have to test, test and operationalise the system from missile, to warhead to mobility and to C4I. our current celebration is like premature ejaculation. nice feeling, but not the real thing.
