How do you know a country is a Zuper Power?
by Argumentative Indian on Apr 05, 2012 11:42 AM  | Hide replies

1) Its permanent front outposts look surprisingly like slums, largely corrugated sheets & gunny bags full of sand, with TINY exit doors!!!

2) Its soldiers take trains to go on annual leave, that costs them 2 days travel time EACH SIDE!!

3) Its men and materials are protected by AK 47 rifles, an outdated Chinese gun, the weapon of choice of improverished militia across the globe and not used by ANY Professional army, including I suspect the Chinese themselves!!!

No doubt, we are the world's new Hyper Power.

bsolescence is correct. The entire budget gets spent on MMS getting BMW cars and Luxuy jets when his occupation is completely free of any risk and his post is changing every 5 years.

Something wrong in the report probably. Maybe there is mutual agreement against building strong structures.

We live in relative peace becoz of your heroism!

We can only hope that our leaders will gather courage to do something real to make your life easier rather than do the usual sabre rattling!

Better facilities for armed forces!!
by t sivaraman on Apr 04, 2012 10:28 AM  | Hide replies

1) It is our own land. why should our armed men suffer with tin roof's. Govt. should upgrade them to concrete structures. Wake up MOD.
2) I have travelled by navjivan frequently and have seen our forces travelling in waitlisted tickets and have shared my berth. why railways can't give preference to army men instead of allowing politicians to sell of their E.Q. quotas??
3) Distance to home is long and army should give atleast once or twice airtickets to their native to these brave army men!
Finally JAI JAWAN!

Hat's off to these Jawan's
by makykaky on Apr 04, 2012 10:14 AM

We should start using remote monitoring equipments as first line shield and then Jawan's.

Using these equipments not only generate employment in Tech industry but, they can setup centers in some semi-urban areas.

Stop Defence related articles
by Ravindra Patil on Apr 04, 2012 10:14 AM

As a responsible citizen (and responsible rporter) not only rediff but any news paper / channel / portal, should not publish such kind of article. And Govt. of India should punish such activities under "DESHDROHI" category, and punish them accordingly. Other wise citizens like us will put PIL in supereme court for the same
