Peace is easy in Karachi
by jack on Sep 20, 2011 09:22 PM

There is a simple way to bring peace between the warring parties in Karachi. Rumours need to be spread that the leaders of MQM are funded by RAW. This will bring down the support form MQM even from amongst the Mohajirs and then there will be eternal peace in Karachi.

Why Mohajirs are hated?
by P Zipk on Sep 20, 2011 08:59 PM  | Hide replies

Mohajirs are originally from India and they are dark skinned.

Pasthuns or Pathans are originally from Afghanistan/KP and they are lighter skinned and taller. They believe they are Aryans/whites/caucasians. They also somehow think they are better Muslims and that gives them the right treat Mohajirs like crap. Who says there is no casteism in islam? It just looks different.

Punjabis, Sindhis and Pashtuns think Mohajirs are not their equals because of their skin color. Mohajirs are discriminated and attacked in many cases. But Mohajirs are more organized, educated and rich compared to Pashtuns. That adds to the frustrtation of other Pakis. The second and third generation of Mohajirs are slowly realizing that their dream of a Muslim heaven called Pakistan is never going to materialize. Some of the not-so-religious Mohajirs are beginning to think they would have been better off if they had stayed back in India. Some are even daring to raise the economic unification with India.

But am I so glad they left. I don't want to touch anybody in pakistan with 10 foot pole.

Easy there, Mahesh. We too are medieval if not worse. Casteism is barbaric. I don't see many the so called educated and upper caste Indians ever talk about the uncivilized treatment of lower castes. Let's do some soul searching here.

Maybe u r right - u presented some good analysis. I remember Altaf Hussain idiot leader of the Mohajir party came to India and said "the partition of India was the biggest blunder". Well - you never know. The peace you see in India may not be tenable. Your last comment is unfounded. Infact there are plenty of people running around like the Maoists for whom the Indian democracy did nothing. I dont think since you sit on the privileged side you have any special rights for talk like this. Kashmir Manipur Nagaland are few examples. The peace in core India is fragile too with many factions having conflicting interests. India is too diverse for me. Bottomline if there is no way to pursue ur goal by peaceful means u have to take the gun. So keep your fingers crossed. Also it is extremely agonizing to see neighboring borders in perpetual violence. It was not clear during the 80s Afghan war what was the plan - it unveiled later in 90s in India. So be patient and let the drama play out.
