Our tortoise paced legal system & judicial system are to blame for that. What about fast track courts that have day to day sittings and a compulsory fixed time frame wise disposal of appeals to higher courts and mercy petitions? And death by firing squad for those accused & convicted of terror activities.

Even if we accept that the Gujrat police and police in many other states is trigger happy and a fake encounter was carried out in this case, should we not highlight the fact that Ishrat & Javed do not seem to be paragons of virtue as claimed by their families?

In modern world essentially it is political interest. Religion is kept alive for political interest or conflicting interest between various interest groups. Alienation from world due to whatever reason leads one to religion, but it is mainly politics.
.....for filing the case and causing agony to the innocent rogue policemen and their political masters. No need to argue who Ishrat was and whether she was connected with LeT in any way.
