When South Indians themselves do not give importance to South India, why should Rediff do it ? Look at Asianet, in the malayalam song contests, most participant sing Hindi songs with funny accents demeaning their own language.

let me state the facts even though they may not be acceptable to many:-

1)In South India the stampedes are very few and far between because the crowds are much
more disciplined.

2)Crowd Control measures are much more organised than in the North.

3)The Stampede at Sabarimala happened because of the ''idiotic Kerala goverment'' did not provide even basic facilities like light and proper directions in the Jungles near Sabarimala.

The '' idiotic Kerala goverment '' is only interested in pocketing the money from devotees and not developing the facilities over there, unlike Tirupathi which has decent facilities for devotees.

While visiting South I found Road signs in English written in Kerala, But In Tamilnadu road signs were missing & if at all they were there, ALL OF THEM were in Tamil, as if they did not expect tourists to their state.
Also it must be noted that the vehicle responsible for that stampede was from Tamilnadu - may be it contained hooligans from Tamilnadu.

Stamped in India
by Sampurnanand Inamdar on Nov 09, 2011 09:28 AM  | Hide replies

it is really unfortunate that devoties getting killed time & again in the stameped at Indian Temples area, even if I am great devoty of God I prefer to avaoid masses in & around temples, I belive that god is great & he never ever sleeps,so by visiting such crowded temples what differant I will get? nothing other than frustration, pain & some time threat to life, I dont want to show that I am passionate to visit temples & Religious places,by presenting myself at such places making place more crowded. Avoid & avoid crowded places let it be any thing, doent get emotional every now & then, use your brain, in India, every temples & Hindu religeous places are not at all safe for mass number of people, they have started looting people, state & centre governements are not intrested to make basic infrastuctures available at such Hindu places like walk ways, drinking water, hygine & sanitation, hygenic food, hospitals, wide roads, etc etc, if you visit to other than Hindu religious places you will find it made available by govt, hence there is no such stamped happening,
governments are paralised if they support Hindu in this situation please avoid all crowded places like temple.
