Bengalis
by Sanjeev Sharma on May 13, 2011 06:14 PM  | Hide replies

After 34 years Bengalis have voted for the right party. They used to vote for CPM who ruined them, ... If they had voted to Mamta in 2000 bengal would have been a developed state now. Throw CPM out from Bengal then only bengal can progress

its not the right party..its the only option...communist dogma has stunted growth of leadership in Bengal...Bengalis have now to de-program their commie mindset and look ahead. Mamata doesnt seem to have any vision or much ability. But its a good start.

Education, diligence and hard work makes a community great. So WB shd stop living in past and start from zero again. Probably, in next 5-10 years WB can close to Bihar and Orrisa. It will decades to come near developed states.

No change !!
by Tera Baap on May 13, 2011 06:11 PM

Rise of Mamata proves that people of WB remained over the years , as they were - only protesting, not ever being pro active.
Change there may be in the govt, but people have rejected left when they really wanted to do something the way the rest of the country does. Bengalis supported left during Jyoti Basu, when nothing was done for industrialising /modernising, as these challenges them to come out from their comfort zone.
Mamata encashed this & that is the biggest problem for the state.
The moment she starts doing ( if at all she tries) something, she will get the same treatment as the left are facing today.
Remember the disillusionment of Dr Ashim Mitra. Same fate probably lies ahead of FICCI Gen secy.
Unless the attitude of Bengalis change, nothing will change in WB. And where has this mentality come from ? It's not communism or socialism . A large section of urban middle class who think poetry, music, arts, romanticism are all that a person need. Behind this actually is the fearful lazy mind who can not take any responsibility or do anything on his own.
Mamata is the new left now, not a change.

rahul baba is responsible for didi's victory
by aam aadmi on May 13, 2011 05:31 PM  | Hide replies

its not didi, but rahul baba's goodwill that made people vote for TC-INC combine in West bengal.
same holds true for kerela and assam and puducherri
the only ecxeption was tamil nadu where people voted against DMK because of 2G and such things, I hope rahulji and soniaji can convince karunanidhi to give up corruption and live chaste life like them
jai ho!
