Paid servants doing protest for congress fed on small portion
by D S on May 13, 2011 03:44 AM  | Hide replies

of kickback money. I dont see any party really wanting anything good for farmers, they want quick returns for themselves.

Congress maintains all these paid servant by throwing them crumbs from huge kickback money that cartel and dynasty make. Even to attend the rallies of congress, these paid servants are paid rs 20 to rs 1000 and promised big returns if congress is in power. So why only congress and bjp have sole rights to run this political business??

COngress has CBI to shield their corruption and act as extortion agent that also tarnishes those they extort such that bjp-congress cartel keeps maximum kickbacks and sonia/rahul get most of it.

politics and politics, rahul has not a single drop of blood from Rajasthan or U.P or delhi or Haryana or South-india, east-india,majority west-india. ALL THIS fuss he does FOR JUST POLITICS of multi-million dollar kickbacks of which his family has been broker for decades. His brother-in-law vadra is a fake, he claims himself from place he and his father is not.

this kickback money also pays low arts like digvijay singh who lost sense of national loyalty along with MMS, congress-bjp cartel, etc for long time. Now they only do dramas.

Very informative, concise and easy to understand article by Author. Keep it up!

It looks like after 1894 (british raj); no politician thought of changing this law for their own convenience.

New bill (created in 2007) addresses many issues; however big question is when and if this bill will turn into the act.

All politicians want to avoid this act so that they can form nexus with private parties and make large profit in this process.

Swami Ramdev is the first to oppose Land Acquisition Law in 2009
by chinki on May 12, 2011 10:30 PM  | Hide replies

Lets Check the History of this Law
What this laws primarily says during British rule is..
Farmers need to show Documents to prove that the farming land belongs to them. But during those days and even today, Indian farming land get transfered from grand father to father and father to son without any documentation.
This law came into existence in around 1824 and primarily targeted the farmers. Estimates show that in around 1824 there were 20 crore farmers in India each having atleast 10 acres of land.
Brits knows that India Prime Business then was farming. 60-70 % people in those days were farmers, and rest were artisans, masons, etc. So to control the largest section of the country, they targeted Farmers.
One more reason to attack on farmers specifically was during those days, freedom fighters mainly comes from farmers family. Britisher need to crush Freedom Movement

In around 1849 this Act was amended to make it further cruel, that if the British government decides to take the land of some farmer then the government shall decide the compensation the farmer is supposed to get in exchange for the land(which was always very low), and that the farmer cannot challenge the government’s decision in any court of law. Moreover if the farmer resisted the government’s order then any kind of violent action could be taken against them.
Same law amendment was tried in recent past by NDA Govt in 2003 and by UPA in 2007. Both time, it didn't pass in Pa

Bad deals by ruling people
by Raja on May 12, 2011 10:02 PM

It is common practice by government to aquire land at throw away prices and the sell it at huge profits there by causing resentment.
1. Why should be Mukesh Ambani who lives in a 10000 crore mansin be given land at subsidised rates by farmers who feed the country and it is their means of livelihood.
Land was aquired by government to build airport at peanut prices but now government has decided to sell the land at exorbitant prices to private parties. Who loses of course the farmers.

3Oustees in maharashtra for projects such as Koyna Dam after fifty years have not received their rights.
4. Govt forcibly acquired land in a town where an nfluential minister lives and demolished structures of people. Subsequently courts decreed that land acquisition was illlegal. The people got their land back but are yet to get compensetion for demolished structures.
5. If land is purchased at market rate what is the compensetion for loss of livelihood, cost of relocation etc
6.What is the base of market rate, the date of acquisition order or the date of payment. Actually payment is made years after making acquisition the order and till then the original recipient usually dies and his sons or grandsons receive paltry or no compensetions.
7. Corrupt officials of revenue department are the biggest road block for the land owners to receive compensetion

land purchase/acquistion
by kay on May 12, 2011 09:16 PM

Purchase at mkt rate.
Give job to one from every family(of five members) from whom land was purchased.Letthese 2 components form price for land.further each year dividend shd be given by the company. This way the land owner would get some money each year from his land and he would be a partner in progress of the company. The sale of land is final.

This aspect of continuing returns is not built-into the acqusistion at present.

bye....
