FORTUNATE Vs. UNFORTUNATE
by udayraj on May 11, 2011 08:47 AM  | Hide replies

It is sure that 2g scam will sent DMK out of power but if it is the exit poll prediction that left will wound up in west bengal then it is nothing but unfortunate.
Third front should be alive to save the democracy of India, because
1. In west bengal mamata banerjee should not have to come into power because everyone knows upto this point of time what she is! From Singur to Rail budget. Anti development ugenda may back her in power but that will be certainly unfortunate.
2. If whole India is taken into account clear majority to Congress Sonia & / or BJP will make the corruption clouds more dark so Left front should have to live in strong which will act as the remote control outside the power. So left parties should have to win otherwise whatever may be that that is unfortunate.

Third Front is the collection of all the idiots and the most corrupts among the political leaders like Jayalalitha, Mayawati etc. And having the anti-national and anti-peple CPM in it is the icing on the cake.

You have written utter rubbish without knowing the real problems in WB. Anyway since you are an outsider so you may not know. Certainly the voters in WB know better than you. Since 2009 LS elections (after the Lefts and Cong parted ways), free and fair poll has been held in WB and we all know the result.

CPM is no less corrupt than Cong or BJP. The only difference is that they usurp public money to make their party fund and the party workers rich (example Anuj Pandey in Lalgarh). Whereas Cong usurp public money to make themselves rich and the leader rich. BJP usurps money but does some good work also in the process.

Mulayam was a known bandit before joining politics, Mayawati was a roadside beggar, Jayalalitha was a kept of MGR - can we call them leaders? And CPM wants to join hands with these people to form a Third Front? Where is their ideology which they are so proud of? And for your information, the stark opposing commies send their children to either UK or USA to study e.g. Prakash Karat.

Goodbye Communists
by pulak taraphdar on May 11, 2011 08:47 AM  | Hide replies

We shall be extremely glad to bid final farewell to communists. I hope they are routed from the whole country. There was nothing positive in their activities. They have destroyed work culture in Bengal. They are good at shedding crocodile tears for the poor. We are expecting more strikes and road blocks with senseless processions which ultimately results in deprivation of a day's earning for the poorest of poor and prevents people from reaching their destinations (including hospitals) in time. Enough is enough. Communists must be eliminated permanently from India.

And what does Mamta stand for??? Exactly what the left did!!! She was the person responsible for most of the Bandhs in WB over last 5-6 years. She deliberately created Singur problem to increase her vote bank. Of course she knows how to play on the typical Bong Mentality which is like the guy who loves to cut the very branch on which he is sitting!! The majority of Bongs love to live like the frog in the well!! They are not bothered by what the world thinks and where it is going. As long as they get their share of sentu speeches, Ilish Mach and Rosogolla, Mohan-East Bengal and cricket in large doses (and of course Rabindranath!!), they are happy!!

And do not think it is an anti bong crusade, since I'm Bong too... but really fed up with the Bongs living in Bengal.

Mamata did not create Singur problem. It is your lack of understanding of the problem.

CPM didn't take the people in confidence before deciding to give away their land to an industrialist. These people who are solely dependent on agriculture in the fertile land of Singur, were unsure of their future with their lands gone because they know nothing except agriculture.

CPM neither tried to understand their plight nor compensated them adequately. The price paid was less than half the market price.

CPM tried to apply force using the brutal cadres. At this stage Mamata entered the scenario. Go through the day by day account of Singur case and then write such bull shit.

In 35 years the commies gave only darkness to WB, they converted West Bengal into Waste Bengal. They created a legacy of red terror in the state. All the party workers and cadres prospered but the common men suffered. The areas like education, power, health, public services, administration, law & order, governance everything went for a toss.
If this wasn't enough, the leaders turned proud, arrogant and rude when questioned by the people. They tried to quiet and subdue the questioning ones by force or terror.
The result of all the above is manifested in the 2009 LS elections, 2010 Civic polls and 2011 Assembly elections.

CPM were so disengaged from the common people because they never allowed a fare election to be held in the state after 1977 till 2008 and didn't try to read people's

There are two types of Bengalis: Bhadralok or civilized Bengalis and Chotalok or uncivilized Bengalis.
Al Chotalok bengalis are voting for Mamata Banu; look at the candidates and supporters of Mamata everywhere. They do not have education more than class VI in schools; they are all engaged in some kind of agencies selling building materials, land etc.

Since 1977 there were at least peace although not prosperity for West Bengal. Now under Mamata there will be again blood baths in west Bengal, as it was during the Congress rule of 1971-1977.

That's your way of thinking. Either you are trying to insult the Bengalis under the disguise of a Bengali name, or you are trying to say that the people staying in Kolkata in areas like Alipur, Dumdum, Jorabagan, Bowbajar, Entally, Maniktala etc. as Chotoloks who have been voting against CPM for many years now.

What peace are you talking about? The people were subdued by Red Terror. Do you understand what red terror is? Go and meet the people in Singur, Nandigram, Keshpur, Netai, Suchpur, Nanur, Shason near Barasat.

If you haven't seen police wearing slipper beating common people mercilessly in Singur, if you haven't seen the video coverage of police in slippers firing at common people of Nandigram using local made guns - then I must say you are a blind person.

In WB, free and fair poll started to happen since 2009 LS election (after LF & Cong affair ended) and the results are everywhere to be seen.
Till yesterday if I wanted to start an industry, I had to pay to party fund, local committee functions, local clubs apart from the normal taxes to the Govt and Govt was nowhere to provide any support.
For 35 years this Govt has not done anything for the people. Therefore the people know what they want, better than you and me for sure.

I'm not talking of the land acquisition methods. All political parties use same methods. Mamta did the same when she was the coal minister in her earlier avatar. However, it is wrong to say people did not know. I was working in Jamshedpur in a Tata Comopany at that time. The Tata Motors officials took at least 3-4 group of local villagers to a tour of Jamshedpur, showing them what all could be achieved if they allowed Singur to develop. I've stayed in JSR (A Tata Town) for 15 years and I know what Tata does for the communities. All this was shown and explained to the villagers.
However, it was just politics, along with Maoist support that made Mamta block Singur.

Joy, Singur was never a problem area before some mischevious elements started creating trouble to arm twist the govt. to give more money. This was then exploited by Mamata Banerjee to resurrect her fledgling career. She destroyed the last ditch attempt by the Left to right some wrongs. You know this just as well as i do. Let us not blindly support someone on every move. Mamata may be honest when it comes to money, does not mean that she is honest when it comes to caring for the people or the state. All she cares about is becoming CM.

I do agree that the land acquisition act is outdated. But why there is no outrage among the people of Chatisgarh or Gujarat where also farmers' are losing lands to industries? It is the way the Govt in these states managed the show. They didn't try to subdue the people using party workers.

Almost 60 to 70 thousand people were directly or indirectly making their living out of the Singur lands. This includes direct landowners to even the cycle-van drivers who were carrying the harvest and to the lonely women of the villages who were involved in the threshing activities.

Singur was not a problem till some people didn't agree to sell their land and the Govt, instead of listening to them, tried to use their cadres against them.

Jamshedpur was a baren land when Tatas set their shop there. In comparision, Singur land is one of the most fertile lands in the country.

So, in spite of what Tatas have done for Jamshedpur, doesn't justify giving away the fertile land of Singur to them. Yes, I would've agreed if Tatas were ready to take a barren land from any of these districts - Midnapore, Birbhum, Bankura, Purulia.

I pity you man. Are you a Tamilian? If so, how can you even expect Congress coming to power in TN when these two kazagams are around and people are brainwashed to vote for either one of them. Congress is no better. It has so many groups fighting with each other, it is better for them to remain in opposition.

But who are the alternatives in India? The Mayavati or Raja?

Or Mamta who almost distroyed the well run Railway ministry ?

Communist government in Kerala actually prevented the land sharks and vested interests from distroying the normal life cycle of ordinary people. Look what happened in elsewhere in India?
Kerala is still green, clean and cost of living still manageable.
