Dear PM

You do make a lot of sense. Your statements point to the fact that you are doing the right sort of things to take care of the problems. The steps you say that you are taking are the right ones, the sane ones.

But you should remember that you are ruling a country not only of sophisticated intellectuals who look at a situation, thoroughly analyze what is happening and then chose the most appropriate course of action; but illiterates, semi-literates, wishful-thinkers, dreamers, arm-chair heroes and the like. In fact the majority of people fall in that category.

These people would suggest that if you are walking down a dark street at night and a robber jumps in front of you and asks for your money you should "thulp" him up and take "his" money bollywood style. If you don't do it then you are not a man, ignoring the fact that you are risking the 500 Rs in your pocket for the stab that you are going to get that will put in the hospital for the next 1 month or even cause you to say goodbye to your family for ever.

The best way to please this crowd, which I should add is the majority of the population of this country, is to crack some high profile corruption cases to show that your government is doing something exciting to address the problem currently on the nations mind.

Sadly this is where your mindset as a manager and a technocrat fall woefully behind that of a showbiz politican such as Laloo Prasad. So Congress will

An apt analysis, however, you are missing the point. He has not shown any resolve to come clean, no visible action (no one asking him to shout from roof top) that could send the message. In fact, during his entire tenure, every new scam was bigger than previous one. Such ineffectiveness! He is not a professor in a university, he is CEO of this country and if same rules apply, he could have been shown the door long back. His most of the answers are typical response of a babu in govt office, who sat thru all scams to save his chair, now trying to justify his failures

Aby Kurian:

Well said. He makes a "lot of sense" when asked - "There is a perception that Sonia Gandhi is deciding everything and you are helpless"

He replied - "Whatever this government has done, I will accept full responsibility. I never felt that she was an obstacle in the performance of the government. My relations with her have never been better. I meet her every week."

i.e. I meet her every week where she tells me what to do. BUT if something goes wrong, obviously it is MY neck on the line... ;-)

Never once he dared to say that it is I, MANMOHAN SINGH, who takes the decisions... :)

PM, whether you open or shut the mouth it is clear it is useless
by bharatma1111@rediffmail.com on Jun 30, 2011 03:48 PM

It is clear that whether our esteemed PM opens his mouth or keeps it shut, nothing worth while ever happens. He nows has finally opened his mouth in front of selected media persons who are instructed not to create trouble for him with difficult questions. But the entire nation knows that price rise is happening for years now under his congress government. he has lost the Moral value of leading the country. He is leading India into abject corruption, misrule and poverty. The poor can't even feed their families.

What the PM told the editors at the meet
by iamindian on Jun 30, 2011 02:31 PM

I am deaf, dumb and mute. I am lame duck. I am too old to even stand on my feet. I am just not aware of any scams that has happend in india ( You see I am blind, what proof you want), I am unable to take any decisions as my hands are tied, I am a mere toy. I hope the general public understands me, and do not ask me to leave this chair, as, it is stuck to me like a glue.

Pappu Pass ho gaya?
by Basant Bharati on Jun 30, 2011 01:49 PM

Pappu Pass ho gaya? Ya Nahee?

After such a high pressure from all possible quarters, Mr. Manmohan Singh opened his mouth.

DID HE DELIVER?

Is there any clarity on his stand now?

Has he defended his inaction, his silence?

Has he given any assurance, any target date on direction/action/result on the issues of Jana Lokpal Bill, on bringing back Swiss Bank money?

And moreover have you noticed any Media riding on him with embarrassing Questions?
