Address the root of the problem!
by krupa Jayaraman on Jun 24, 2011 06:00 PM

We all are responsible for these ghastly acts! Female foeticide is as prevalent as dowry taking! If the girl's side is not openly asked for dowry, then it is covertly taken in many other forms! The less privileged sections of the society are mostly victims of this. And selfish, money-thirsty scoundrels make the most of it - they do not care if it is inhumane! We have to be ruthless in condemning such acts and take severe actions against the perpetrators! Also, a sea change in our mentality is required to put an end to this disease in our society!

Why you cannot think anything outside politics? This is a social problem and it has nothing to do with politics. No politicians can change the society, it is neither their job nor they are interested. They join politics, make money and bugger off. If you want to see change in the society, be vocal and protest what is wrong, even if it is happening in your own family.

gentically there should me more females per male. almost in all developed and erst while ussr countries there r more females per male.
Counties where there is descrimination on basis of sex, female foeticide is a major problem, which includes countries like India, pakistan, maldives, Saudia Arabia, Oman, UAE etc.
To stop till horryfying practice we must fight for gender equality and try to remove stigma attached with girl child

Munde belongs to Banjara caste. This caste is known to have its origin from Rajasthan Banjara community same as all Maratha and Kshatriya Mali are Rajput in origin from Rajasthan. Especially in Banjara caste in Rajasthan, it is more female foeticide seen in comparison to other caste in both Rajasthan and Maharashtra state. So one can imagine Munde's constituency Parli since it's banjara caste dominated area has similar mentality towards female child....

female foeticide-a sign of backwardness.
by Ahi Sen on Jun 24, 2011 05:16 PM

This is happening in many parts of the country as girl child is considered a burden on the family. Inequality between man and woman is predominantly prevailing in feudal system. Lack of education and dowry system are often leading to decision to stop giving birth to girl child. The north and western India suffering from imbalance in sex ratio and Government and social organisations are not doing enough in this field.
