where are the other technologies like anti-ballistic missile systems like laser, infrasonic weapons etc. do we live in the stone age. why do we not have good private firms like the US. DO we live in the stone age !!!!!

weapons tasted in battlefield not in Google field, in battle field maximum weapon from DRDO fail in kargil. this is Indian army who suffer from that lost hundreds of its solders
all management puppies and calculators stock marketeers who feverishly press buttons on calculators (casio unscientific calculator) ...should know a lot of facts about scientists in india.
Of all donkeys populating this great nation, only scientists are best donkeys. they work hard and are paid less. rest of donkeys are actually mules. they wear colourful ties and flirt with opposite gender and cannot even prepare a good looking powerpoint presentation. yet they incohorently talk about some graphs (they know a shyyt how those graphs came by).
India develops such technologies that even US and other countries want to joint collaboration and investments in indian defence sector. not for nothing EADS opened a research center in bangalore.

THE SCIENTISTS ARE THE TRUE HEROES OF THIS COUNTRY. I KNOW A PERSON WHO LEFT A JOB OF 2.5 LAKHS P/M IN A PRIVATE FIRM AND JOINED DRDO FOR JUST RS 40,000 P/M. MY HEART FILLS WITH GRATITUDE AND RESPECT FOR THESE BRAVE MEN AND WOMEN, BECAUSE THEY BEAR THE ADVERSITIES OF LIFE AND STILL SERVE THE COUNTRY, ALTHOUGH, IF THEY CAN LIVE A LAVISH LIFE IN INDIA OR ABROAD !!

Yes Man, we can do anything under the Sun. We are the best. these politicians and babus should give us a breather and our scientists can do marvels. Look at it this way Kautilya is called as macauley(forget about speling) of the east where Kautilya was born ages before. Only thing we need is self confidence, which is badly missing. corrpuption the less said the better.

For eachof the above achievements, it would be revealing to tabulate four essential facts:(i) date started development (ii) date completed trials by Military (not DRDO),(iii) date accepted into operational service (iv) no. of units produced. The Brahmos was operational in Russia before the so -called "joint venture". If the Kaveri engine is a success, I wonder why our LCAs are flying with American GE engines. HUMSA was completed 30 years ago, and its designers and producers have long since gone on their well-deserved pension. Who the hell are we fooling? And no prizes for guessing who inspired this article.

Sorry, ur facts are wrong. Brahmos is still not in Russian service but included in Indian services. This is because there is a clause in Russian constitution that nothing developed by or in cooperation with another country will be included in Russian army. India shall also have such clause but it has opposite one it seems.

who are you ? ...a calculator ..a stock marketeer. if you know nothing about scientific projects and how long it takes or how many failures one has to endure then kindly keep your vents shut. even US with its joint development with europeans had to face horrendously many trials and failures to build its defence industry.
all unscientific MBA corporate puppies and good for nothing calculators pressing buttons keep posting messages on scientific issues.
90% of DRDO, which calls itself as India's prestigios organization is a wasteful expenditure and its progress and prowess is just govt Propoganda.
1: We all know how PINAKA weapon system misreably failed during the Kargil war. 2: We all know that DRDO's indeginious TANK system also failed on ALL parameters during the field trails of Indian Army. 3: DRDO's HAL helicopters are flying coffins which fall on just sound of whistle. 4: HAL exported its helicopters to VENEZULA and the helicopters crashed on during their NATIONAL PARADE. 5: DRDO's bullet proof vests failed misreably during the 26/11. 6: DRDO is best in making BOOTS and PARACHUTES for Indian forces. 7: DRDO is best in assembling the imported semi/complete knocked down weapon systems delivered to India. 8: DRDO is for 30 years developing LCA for IAF but the flying machine is only for AIRSHOWS and not a penny worth more. 9: INSAS rifle developed is just a DIWALI item which fails to fire after few rounds due to over heating of BARREL and system.
Country where IITs are just a placement agency and no world standard research worth mentioning is done. IITs and DRDOs claim their success on their number of international patents filed but NO ONE ON EARTH IS READY TO BUY A GRAIN OF THEIR RESEARCH to put it for any strategic use or commertial use.
All the above points also holds true for other Govt AIDED research instituions which are nothing more but service stations.

none of these machines have actually been tested in a war like situation. We need to attack our neighbour with these new systems and then can check whether they actually fit the bill. else we need to hang our scientists.

I just read first two of you list and all this are crap. So I did not bother to read through. Regarding opening our eyes, yes in democracy we have always our eyes open. We also know our weakness and strength. We are a country which is just 60 yrs old with a diversity of issues that no country can cut through. Our scientific strength depends upon our quality of living. As it increases we will conquer new frontiers. But compare with the fund allocated to them and the success rate. That is praiseworthy.

Only Few of them come forward to help India .....IITs are just a placement agency Seriously...DRDo Must Be Open or Arrange an Event so that they get what Ideas have Ordinary Indians (other than IIT's DRDO)...Indians Are HIGHLY TAlented People in World ...But Lack Behind Coz of Criteria And Other Issues ..
