If you want to live in Maharashtra abide by their culture..
by Peter Parker on Jul 11, 2011 05:37 AM

If the culture looks down on "innocent" drinking and dancing so be it. Police do not raid lounge bar's unless there is a reason typically the bar establishment is encouraging prostitution or selling of drugs etc.
I support mumbai police on cracking down on such activities. Tolerance of low level crimes only encourages high level crimes. Take a look at Bangalore where the progressive pubs were abused by outsiders with a different culture resulting in a clampdown.

Collection

The cops must've had a loss in last month's collection. This would explain the eagerness to "morally police" these parties.

If the place was operating illegally, then the owner has to answer, and not the people. It is a different story if a crime has been committed.

This looks like a case of going in for the loot, police caught themselves getting greedy, and slapped a charge of "indecency" to get away with it.

The mumbai police need to be more savvy with their approach. People are no longer illiterate like before. Many offices are open until late now and their duty is to maintain law and order, and not create undue confusion.

Maybe the Mumbai police should itself start using a facebook page to explain their stand on this matter and other important issues that face the city of Mumbai, security wise. At least people will not complain then about not being warned.

Perverts have rights

These perverts have rights to. Perverts should be allowed to stay perverts, as long as they don't harm others.

Fully agreed. It wasnt on the streets but inside a lounge bar. And nobody was complaining which means they were not disturbing anyone
