By remaining chief minister Mayawati proves how much cheap is the position. She may have 1000 crores property - but of what use? Can she use it for dalits of whom she is a leader? NO - then what she is? A person is successful if he / she can earn some menas for the cause for which he / she spends life. Very soon whe also will be forgotten by people as happened even with Indira Gandhi. These people cheat themselves - and I pity them.
i think mayavati is dalit woman with notorious mind....one seniour police officer cleaning dust from her chappal....that too in public..it shows that up is still under monarchy..it is shame to see all this things in this 21st century world.
Everybody know whenever there is a corruption scam, a scandal regarding misuse of power a front (with 3 or 4 parties) is not present among them. The leading party, Communist Party of India (Marxist) don't even have a single leader in it with a serious allegation (of corruption, etc)against him. That party has a very democratic structure that if anyone forward any valid allegation against any member to the party, he will be expelled from the party very soon. The party has made possible least corruption in one of the states with maximum influence, Kerala and West Bengal will also reach that level soon.
There are many administrative measures that has proved its ability to curb poverty and corruption and bring about an egalitarian society. A few are land reforms (land for all), free education, decentralisation of power into panchayti raj institution. But only states ruled by the Left had showed some interest in doing this. The West Bengal which was the second poorest state state (poorest in rural poverty) in the 70s has now its poverty ratio around the national average with some 7 or 8 big states behind. Kerala which had its poverty ratio around national average is now the second best state (first in terms of UN's MPI scale). These states has achieved this All other states hasn't moved from their respective places.
