and what of those families that sen has endangered
by sg sg on Jan 04, 2011 12:52 PM

by extending any support to a terrorist groups whether passive or direct should be concidered an act of treason and if dr sen has in anyway shown support to the violent ways of the maoist then he should be punishable under the toughest laws. his family have the luxury to make the statements and leave for another country but what of those who die every day in kangaroo courts of the maoists and innocents who live under fear and damage all national property

he is being made a scapegoat without even proper attention to details of the plot.

There's hasty power-politics behind this.

hey all you medical professionals... the oath we take that we will provide service to every human being irrespective if religious, social, ect backgroungs... has been mocked. From now on all those who have taken the oath are compromising the national security.
Now we have the right with a documentary proof to REFUSE service to whomever we choose.... hey you general public be careful now!!!

But Dr. Binayak Sen inspite of being a gold medallist from CMC Velllore-a premier Medical College, dedicated his life to helping & serving the poorest of the poor! Does that not tell you something about the man?

Kangaroo court in a banana republic
by banana republic on Jan 04, 2011 12:28 PM

Binayak Sen was convicted by a Kangaroo court in a banana republic. It is understandable that his wife wants to take political asylum in some other country. But she should wait. I feel that the Apex court will render justice to Dr. Sen

Not expected from Mrs. Sen
by Manoj Dev on Jan 04, 2011 12:26 PM

If we say Mrs. Sen is over-reacting, it would not be appropriate. However, better composure and sense of proportion are expected from a lady of such height. The verdict is only that of a junior court. Our judicial system is strong despite many odds. At the end the Sens can well expect the right justice.
The Maoists may have just touched Dr. Sen; but, he has to pay for it - the SEns must appreciate that. Law is blind and ass, particularly when interpretation is not in good hands.

Yes India is too liberal; you are right. That is why the Union Carbide bosses - with the active help of both the Congress and the BJP while they were in the govt. - have escaped with a very limited jail term for causing the Bhopal gas trajedy !

And the Indian commoners, especially the middle class, are even more liberal ! That is why most of them are not even aware of the depth of the Bhopal gas tragedy and bray instead about Dr. Binayak Sen's alleged 'couriering' !!

piri, to be very honest the present day Ma0ists have lost all their ide0logy. They are more or less extortion mafias. Have you heard of any Ma0ist attacking any big businessmen or politician? They are also ki11ing poor adivasis and tribals alleging they are police informers.

Our constitution does not peovide for withdrawing the citizenhip. Perhaps framers did not foresee Naxals. Government should not cow down before such third rate blackmail. She should be thrown out of country. Let us see which country supports naxal vilance under he garb of humanitarianism like Vinayak Sen.
