It is sad that there are several readers give wrong opinion without understanding the real problem of fishermen and comparing with Pakistani fishermen. There was island - Katchtheevu belonged to India (before independence it was ruled by Ramnathapuram Sethupathi Kings) in seventies our PM Indira gandhi handed over srilanka as friendly gesture withour minding the opposition from TN fishermen and the people of Tamilnadu. The Nehru familiy always need world fame by selling this country like Kashmir to Pak and eatern places to China in the name of panchaseel. The katchatheevu is fish rich area. After handing over this area our fishing area in the sea was reduced. This is the main reason. Every year there is church festival in Katchatheevu, only TN fishermen go there but nowadays the SL government is not allowing Indians (secularist please note). without geting the parliament approval it has been given to SL. Sri lanka is very cunning country, once side they get help from India and the other side they get from Pak and China. Hence it is not right to compare our fishermen to paksitanis...
Still Indian government will say repeated words like 1.we condemn the Attack 2.Attack on fishermen is unacceptable At-last the send external ministry Tour to lanka Everyone forget this since indian media is in hands of congress government this issue is not known to other parts...

How can a chicken shit small island fishermen treat our countrymen like this? If they do it must be retaliated in the same way. First throw away your traitor DMK Govt. who shed crocodile tears and do nothing.They are responsible for all round downfall of whole Tamil community including genoside in Srilanka.

At REDIFF has reported the ground reality regarding LANKAN NAVY ATROCITIES!!! All so called leading indian english/hindi channels are mouth pieces of Indian govt/congress party chief. They are biased against Lankan tamils/indian tamils. Rediff to present such an unbiased story of plight of lankan tamils also. This reqd to show the true face of congress chief.
The SL govt now do not allow the Tamil fishermen to fish, have brought in loads of SInhalese fishermen from the south. The Eelam Tamil fishermen are marginalised. These Sinhalese Karawa fishermen can speak fluent Tamil. So these Tami lspeaking Sinhalese fishermen have sent by the SriLankan navy to capture the Indian Tamil fishermen on the pretense that they are Eelam Tamil fishermen.This s charade to creat enemity between the Eelam Tamils and Indian Tamil fshermen by the Indian and Sri Lankan government. Nothing like this happened when the LTTE ruled the sea during the last 30 years. They allowed all Tamil fishermen both Indian and Eelam were allowed to fish in peace and in dignity.
If this pretex is being given by tamil fishermen that they were using the same waters since ages and only in recent times current boders vcame into exsistance, then what wrong Pakistani or Indian fishermen have commited. Pakistanis would like fish in Indian waters shamelessly on pretex that their forefathers used these waters what are new International boders to stop them.

Due to the immense pressure from all sides, the Sri Lankan Navy could no longer train themselves on Tami1 Fishermen. They have cleverly devised a plan to continue the attack on Tami1 fishermen without being questioned .i.e to attack under the cover of fishermen. Pls read savukku . net for more details.
