by SMT on Feb 22, 2011 11:41 AM

Based on the news clippings coming each day through various means, it seems that a great battle is going to spread across Middle East by the end of 2011 and / entire 2012 is going to be a big year to watch. Chinese govt. is trying to stop such efforts / supports by supressing it. Keep watching, open our eyes... days are going to be teribble.

What doomed, it is a complete failed state, a rogue nation and one that is hailed as the HQ of terror. Pukistan cannot manage to survive on own, lives like a beggar that it is on US dollars.

If Egypt has done this, Lybia could have been avoided.

Amar,Islam has nothing to do with this. All these leaders have beenn ruling for 20-45 years!
Imagine that long a time. Also remember this part of the Islamic world is indeed modern. Walk on any street in these countries and you will indeed see the difference. I have found them to be much liberal in their outlook. These countries are wanting change. They really wanna live well. Bahrain is indeed very free compared to Saudia. All these countries though Islamic have their own identity. To these nationals their nationality is much important and is their identity. I would not prefer to issue a blanket statement of Islam.
Islam is just as large as humanity and the differences amongst them much more than you would find in Hinduism.
Diversity is Human kinds blessing and lets celebrate that!

Democracy wave
by vichalie on Feb 22, 2011 10:28 AM  | Hide replies

While the domocracy wave that started from Tunisia has liberated Egypt and may also claim other such regimes, one worries that may of these countries may have to pass through uncertain and trying times in the transition period. Such revolutions go through a 'cleansing' stage. We in India need to worry if China starts such protests. The Chinese government will not be easy to crack. It has a tendency to blame neighbours for its ills.

I wud suppose that protests in China wud b a good thing. in any case an authoritarian regime where people have no voice cannot b justified in any way. Any change from that is more than welcome.

I wud suppose that unrest in China wud b a good thing; the authoratarian system there is wrong, people have no voice. Any change from such a system should b more than welcome.
