Recently VIJAYAWADA's then commissioner PSR Anjaneyulu, an IPS officer!! had courage to send explicit SMSs to women, who had approached him with complaints against offenders, at various times during the course of his posting at Khammam, Kurnool and Vijayawada ranging from asking to come out for a night to asking them to wear a particular outfit or dress up in a particular manner. The IPS officer had allegedly exploited all women complainants by sending his subordinates -- SIs, CIs and Havaldars to the houses of these women, if they refused to listen to his dikhats. The state government with a woman HOME MINISTER has "punished" Anjaneyulu with a PLUMP post after recalling him to the state police HQs!! and the TV channel that claims "For better society" as its punch line was involved in hushing up the misdemeanors of ANJANEYULU and the other TV channel that said "Dammunna Channel" (Channel with courage) seems to have lost all "courage" at its disposal after jacking up its TPRs on the first day it reported Anjaneyulu's escapades and now maintains silence.
At least Delhi police was decent enough to give a reply to such a query under RTI. Had it been ANDHRA police the RTI applicant would have been "ENCOUNTERED" and the news papers would have reported NAXAL killed in a cross fire when AP police men challenged a person suspected to be a naxal, he opened fire at police men on patrol, and policemen on duty opened fire in self-defence killing the suspected PWG activist. NO BODY is SAFE in AP, especially TELANGANA region with ANDHRA police on Prowl.
Very shameful statistics yet not surprising because many knew it as a fact.
Firstly, this is certainly not limited to Delhi. If we file such a RTI in different states, you will see similar or more cases Proportionate to size of the state. You will also see a heavy tilt in favor of rural and tribal areas where more such incidents happen because police men will later threaten the poor villager/tribal to go quiet or harass them further.
We are living in a such a sad state. Police, which is supposed to be a "friend" and protector of public, treats the common man with utter disrespect [if common man enters police station, he will be slapped before questioning starts], it is very bad democracy. This has to change first.
As long as people are afraid of Goondas and police brutal force, real political change will NEVER happen
Delhi was known as rape capital and now with so many policemen involved with sexual abuses and molestation. No doubt that the common man follows the protector of law. Worst thing that the Governor is a lady Sheila Dixit. What an irony. It seems that some males are sick in the mind and urgently require to see a shrink.
During delhi police selection the " balls" of police man should be tagged and any activity during the day time should alert the police department ,but this will not save 100percent but the "ball" activity can be stopped to some extent
I do not understand what is happening in Delhi. There is rape reported on daily basis and now police themselves have rape cases against them. I will never want to go to such a place where women are least respected.
