National games
by om shanti on Feb 11, 2011 07:43 AM

That the 34th National Games is finally being held in Jharkhand is a miracle in itself. And that the sporting extravaganza has been resurrected after six postponements because of years of political instability is a measure of the resolve of the current dispensation led by the BJP’s Arjun Munda.

During an interaction with the The Telegraph after about a month of being sworn in chief minister, leading a disparate coalition of demanding regional allies, he had declared, “Mein karke dikhaonga. Two hundred per cent National Games toh hoga hi hoga. (I will get it done. National Games will happen 200 per cent).”

Finally it’s on. No matter how. A handful of wise men, all bureaucrats with experience, became the workhorses once the state government put on hold a vigilance bureau inquiry against senior members of the National Games Organising Committee, and decided to go full throttle on hosting the Games.

A sports complex the size of four football fields, housing as many as nine small and big stadiums that took three years to build, now stands tall in Hotwar in the outskirts of the state capital. Beside it is Khel Gaon, a 56-acre residential complex of apartments, to house over 7,000 sportspersons and officials.

Over Rs 650 crore spent and Ranchi has never looked so international.

Caste System is the Biggest Reservation Scam
by Kumar on Feb 11, 2011 07:17 AM  | Hide replies

Caste system is the biggest reservation scam and merit killer. For thousands of years the manubadi thugs enjoyed caste based reservations. The result:
Reservation for Bammans in the field of education made India one of the most uneducated and superstetious countries in the world.
Reservation in military/Army for the kshatriyas made India a slave country that lost to two bit kings from Iran, Turkey, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Huns, East India Company etc.
Reservations in business for the banniyas caused India to have the most dishonest business people in the world that create substandard goods and demand 5000 percent profit also called looting the customers.
The list goes on and on.

Seems Paid article or the Author biased to Con
by exit reality on Feb 11, 2011 03:14 AM  | Hide replies

No blame to any of the congress leaders who ruled India for around 55 years and it mentions that Vajpayee(he was a great Parliamntarian who was invited by Indira Gandhi too for many occasion to represent our country for talks) opposed Nuclear tests(giving credit to Narasimha Rao). During Vajpayee's tenure only the test was conducted.
The opposition parties' pressure made great impact on many things and open discussion and brain stroming happened due to this. We are seeings scams now a days, where no open discussion had happened. Many deals are just unethical businesses enabling kickbags to many agents and brokers in between. Transparency is the key for any deal. I think Vajpayee's rule was the most uncorrupt rule based on Indian reality. A.P.J Abdul Kalam became the president this time. Congress denied his Second term. There was a vision for long term Infrastructure growth for India.

Poor Vajpayee must be desperately waiting for Advani to retire as they both can have a ball of a time together. Why Advani's is not quitting the Parliament gracefully? PM in desperate waiting.

India being a Socialist Secular Democratic Republic even after 63 years of Independence still has too many poor and unemployed. The gap between rich and poor widened. Corruption prevails in every section. In 5 years you cannot do magic. 55 years is a long time for development. In India policies of the past governments caused the major income desparities. Subsidy based and reservation base politics is the major cause. The past governmnents exploited the poor, never done anything to uplift poor. We need a government with vision for long run to make every Indian accounted. Not just Ambanis, Birlas and NRIs. Who is responsible for this? We need a platform for long term development. Fedup with the current system and the way Democracy is misused here. I am not a Vajpayee supporter, in reality you will see. People blindly votes and we are exploited by these dirty politicians and beaurocracies.
Corruption should have eradicated if initially it was controlled.

People go before religions and gods which are created by humans. Everywhere division in the base of caste, creed and religion. This division by British government followed by the dirty regional, caste, creed based political parties and exploited the Indian people till. We need a great change. Just writing comments won't help. Congress takes credit of Independece and Gandhi, if you study history you will know what is the Pre Independence congress and Post Independence Congress.
