Pakistan will save everyone's time and energy if it releases. If it can host terrorists what difference will this releasing one man make. Does Pakistan want its food or non existant prestige?
For killing just two pakistanis in self defence Pakistan is acting so firmly against america. contrast that with rajiv gandhis government in 84 after the bhopal gas tragedy where arjun singh used his official airline to transport anderson to delhi and the centre gave him free passage to the US.
US and Pakistan make a nice pair.. US likes to push ammunitions and bribe..Pakistan acts like spoilt brat....So pakistan is like an expensive (and dangerous) wife to the US..
Mark my words Pakistan will release Davis in next few days. you know the saying.. Beggers can't be choosers! Pakistans economy is fully dependant on the billions of dollars in aid they receive from USA. Pak just cannot afford to lose the money.

CORRECT, i think they are simply trying to pacify their terrorist junta, once it is done will be be quietly send back to US.
