Excellent job of feeding needy!
by vishak karanth on Feb 03, 2011 10:12 PM  | Hide replies

I always cherished the noble idea of "Akshaya Patra". It's all about feeding the hungry stomach and fulfillment of one of the needs of human beings 'FOOD'. Our governments are busy doing other things or are not concerned with hungry stomachs or are not interested in seeing in what conditions they are...this is something laudable by ISKCON. Let's not put who we are feeding. Let's come together in creating a world which is full of food. I always thought "Food War" would be the next big thing to happen where people fight for food. So this is the time where we make major developments in food technology and make food readily accessible!

Mid-day meal schemes
by Raslup Rasauq on Feb 03, 2011 08:43 PM  | Hide replies

I once wanted to donate to the mid-day meal schemes being run by the state governments of Maharashtra or Andhra Pradesh. Can some one tell me how to do this?

Most of the state grants to this program would go from the Cheif Minister's office. You can donate to the CM's office and ask them to divert the same to the Mid-day meal program.

Keep it up!

Amazing work done by Akshaya Patra, the Charity part of Iskcon Bangalore. This great service to Indian children in feeding their stomach is really incomparable. Also, the quality of the food, the delivery model and the high quality management is amazing.
Wishing all the Best.

Rest of the Iskcon Centres can also learn from this branch of Iskcon Bangalore.

AKSHAYA PATRA'S EXCELLENT SERVICE
by KRISHNAMURTHY V on Feb 03, 2011 07:41 PM  | Hide replies

Akshaya Patra , a wing of ISKCON, is doing a wonderful service to the Indian Society , with no hidden agenda; an act which have to be learnt by other service organisations. And it is ironical and saddening that this project of ISKCON had to face some problem regarding the funding modality, in which ultimately Dharma won. Keep up your good work, AKSHAYA PATRA;and let us as good Indians support wonderful work like this.

by kushal on Feb 03, 2011 12:56 PM

They are doing a very good job by feeding so many children which encourages them to go to school....being in bangalore i have seen there work....they are better than NGO like Worldvision who openly declare as a christian organization using most of the funding for conversions.....
