May be at that time the temple was dedicated to Siva, and later when Krishna bhakti became predominant, the villagers might have converted it. The villagers are telling the stories - better to pose your question to them.

Rediff has put Sai related articles as punching bags and everybody is having fun abusing Sai. He is getting deserving treatment.

If some Rediff Senior Analyst would come up with this title, there would be a 10 page article with photos of all.

The village elders as stated below claim "that Lord Rama had prayed at the Shri Ambegalu Shri Krishna temple before he set out to Lanka to battle Ravana" This appears just to popularise their temple and village. My argument is simple; Rama belongs to Tretayuga which is earlier to Krishna's Dwaparayuga. How can Rama pray an unborn Krishna? This kind of stories for marketing their temples has only made Hinduism distanced from People and spreading disbelief and making other religious groups to spread their more careful claims about their beliefs.

I think Rama forged his birth certificate to gain seniority over krishna. there is so much controversy about his birthplace also!!
