Re: Anna needs to Emulate Mahatma Gandhi

Mass Moral Cleansing? Gandhi was one of the great Indians and I respect him but he had many scatter brained ideas like this. The word "CLEANSING" has many genocidal connotations!
Cleansing was the favourite activity of the absolutist regimes of the 20th century like Mao's China, Nazi Germany, Pol Pot's Cambodia or Soviet Russia starting from Stalin! Taken together, these killed over 100 million people.
Closer home, the Is1amists with the tacit support of the majority community, ethnic cleansed the Pandits from Kashmir as recently as 1991.
However, I wish this movement expands to bring about change in Mass Character instead of limiting itself on laws.
I believe india is victim of corruption because indian mass is casteist, communal, oppressive and self centered. If india/Anna movement can fight these evils, India can never be victim of corruption.
Addressing menace of corruption thru laws is just addressing a wound superficially.

I do not agree about nitish too.
But atleast Nitish is not a criminal, so i can live with it.
It is impossible to hear praise of a CM who transfered within 2 days every IPS officer who did not allow car -nage in his area, and rewarded with promotions those in whose areas innocents were mass -acred in big numbers

Wahaj-It is high time you give up ur persecution complex! Even in a discussion on Anna Hazare's anti-corruption movement, all you can do is nitpick and split hairs and then blame Narendra Modi! Riots scar people from all communities. Can you show me a single sane individual from any community who enjoyed riots?
But you and some holier than thou self appointed protectors of the Mus1im community, the so called super-secularists have started objecting to anyone meeting or shaking hands or working with Narendra Modi! So you have a problem if Ratan Tata moves his NANO project to Gujrat or if the Ruias set up their new integrated Petro project there or if Anil & Mukesh Ambani praise Modi as India's best CM or if Nitish Kumar shook hands with Modi during a joint NDA Chief Ministers' meet! Is there any FIR against Modi? Is there any ongoing investigation against Modi? What prevented the Central Government from taking action against Modi? After all did a Chief Minister like Madhu Koda not get arrested and his properties confiscated? Is Spectrum Raja not in jail? Did the Supreme Court ever specifically mention Modi as being involved in the riots?
I am no BLIND hero-worshiper of Modi, but he is definitely one of the better CMs of India along with people like Raman Singh, Nitish Kumar, Shivraj Chauhan, Sheila Dixit, Naveen Patnaik or Achudanandan. Much better than many self-serving leaders or politicians who pay mere LIP SERVICE to the cause of our Indian Mus1ims!

Living in denial GIVEANID? How many of these super secularists have criticized Ratan Tata, Anil & Mukesh Ambani or Ruias of Essar or Deepak Parek of HDFC or Mahindra head honcho for praising Modi??? These Jhola & NGO types live on alms from these corporates! Capiche?

You are wearing a yellow glass and can see things only in yellow. While blaming Modi for 2002 riots, you don't see the carnage in the train that provoked/resulted in the aftermaths. And you also don't recognize the fact in the resulting riots, it was not just Muslims who suffered - the victims included, and not just 1 or 2, but over 275, hindus too... Th 2002 riots was wrong and blot, but do recognize and be bold to say that the train burning was equally wrong and bad... But I don't think you can and you would do that...
i really appreciate Anna Hazare..but why does he keep on praising himself on every interview of all what he has done and is doing. i did that i am this i am that

What is his age, He proud to be what is his.... Even Sri Krishna Said... I am the world in Bhagavadgeetha. Afteral we are all small peoples. Why you comment..... You misguide yourself and wanted to misguide others......
Democracy only works in those societies where people have a sense of self-esteem and self-sacrificing attitude.
The first one is essential and the second one is nice to have. These are complementary forces that keeps the national character.
Only in societies that have no self-respect, does an "exploited" becomes an "exploiter" when he captures power. Eg: India. In societies which value individual self-respect, the "exploited" when he captures power, removes the exploitation. Eg In Europe
The so-called "intellectuals" in India think that India will become great on the strength of its economy and being a nuclear power. While the core problem in India, is that no one is seriously considering how to develop individual self-esteem.
It is great that people like Anna are working in this area and giving Indians back their pride and honour so that the "exploited"" can finally remove the exploitation.

"Democracy only works in those societies where people have a sense of self-esteem and self-sacrificing attitude"
SO, pretend that this is a dictatorship by Congress/BJP.
SIR ANNA, IT SEEMS THAT YOU ARE FIGHTING A BATTLE AGAINST THOSE CORRUPT PEOPLE WHO ARE NOW IN POWER AND THEY ARE DILUTING YOUR BATTLE AGAINST CORRUPTION. ALL THIS MINISTERS ARE CORRUPT AND CHEATING PEOPLE.
india certainly needs a democratically elected dictator to set things right.or with the type of scums in politics right now what can one expect.pnly miracle is keeping india going forward.
What can Anna do if the entry country is corrupt. Previously it used to be "yatha raja thata praja" In democracy it is "yatha praja tatha raja" Indians lack values; so rulers also do not have values. Otherwise do u think an Italian would be ruling us?
Quoting Anna-"Who are political leaders? People's servants, and despite being people's servants you think of yourself as if you own the people of this country then people will have to remind the political leaders that they are public servants and not owners." We, Indians have a habit of deifying our heroes & leaders. Look how Gandhi and later Nehru & his family have been deified and set on impossibly high pedestals with sycophantic & hysterical worshipers. Nobody can deny the contributions of Nehru, Indira Gandhi or Rajiv Gandhi made for the country. But is there no alternative beyond them. How Indira tried to foist Sanjay Gandhi on the nation. And sycophants chanting the family name to cling on to power. This is what allowed a non-entity like Sonia to become the Congress President and run a puppet PM's government through remote control and a kitchen cabinet like the NAC which consists of Sonia's hand picked intellectuals & chatterati and Page 3 social activists. What we have landed up due to all this is the most inept, callous, insensitive and corruption tainted crony-capitalistic regime ever! And this deification does not stop. Mobs run by so called protectors of Ambedkar's good name attacked Anupam Kher's house because he made some comments on the Indian Constitution which was compiled & collated by Ambedkar. Can anyone rationally analyse or write critical reports on anybody from Ga

Can anyone rationally analyse or write critical reports on anybody from Gandhi to Ambedkar to Sardar Patel or Anna Durai or even Shivaji Maharaj without facing mob attacks?
Democracy cannot be reduced to just TYRANNY of the MAJORITY. True democracy means a situation where I may not like or agree with what you say or propagate, but I defend with my life, your right to say or do so.
All the politicians who are crying foul now that Anna Hazare & other activists have indulged in political blackmail should explain how they have carried out Bandhs, Hartals, Rasta Rokos, protest marches or disrupted parliament to get their point of view across. And get one thing very clearly- The government did not bend in front of Anna Hazare but capitualted to the pressure of Public Opinion! Anna Hazare's movement struck a chord with many ordinary Indians and filled the vacuum the politicians failed to address.

Anna Hazare has a long association with activism and his targets/victims have included people from all parties such as the Congress, NCP, Shiv Sena & BJP especially in Maharashtra. Anna also made a yeoman contribution for the passing of the RTI bill. We need not deify him, but we can definitely show him our sincere appreciation, gratitude & respect for this mass movement that he has breathed life into. He has given hope to millions of ordinary Indians. Anna Hazare's heart is in the right place.
