Borrowing your words, did you invent secularism to define as 'separating religion (meaning religious laws) from state (meaning constitution)'?
Go look up the dictionary if you want the literal meaning.

If you want interpretation, go read some books and learn what Gandhiji has said. And that is the secularism accepted and adopted in India.

What we have in India is not Secularism but "CompetitiveCommunalism", one party or other always trying to appease one section of the society or other.

Why don't you teach the meaning of Secularism to Mr.Nicholas Sarkozy who has banned theBlackVeil in France? Or to RobertSpencer, GreetWilders and the GreatGeorgeWBush who had said that there is no place for the Atheists in Amrika as it is a COUNTRY-UNDER-ONE-GOD? There is no prize for guessing which is that ONE-GOD he was referring to.

caste-based and religion-based politics
by Ahamed on Apr 12, 2011 10:40 AM  | Hide replies

@amritha chaithanya

//Poor narrowminded fellow..maybe frm karnataka or gujarath..
Kerala its always caste based politics and through that all communities benifited.
devadas please let us live in harmony and peace,u'r masters have destroyed a religious place .

Agree with it.completely caste-based and religion-based politics and In Kerala,Its always UDF had
communal agenda in phases.

All communities got enough represented except SC/ST.

Why Ramesh Chennithala and NSS does not give any seats to Dalits.

NSS is for Nairs. So they won't give their share to anyone.

SNDP, KPMS etc on the other hand stand for Dalits and they also get their share, more than NSS, if Sukumaran Nair is to be believed.

Why NSS does not give single seat to Dalit Candidate.

Patriot, first of all, the word meaning of secularism is NOT "separation of religion from state". GO check if you want to get the literal meaning.

Secondly, the interpretation if secularism by Gandhi is the accepted idea of secularism in India. To learn that, you will have to read some books...
