secularism was never INVENTED or BORN in india for u to define ur own secularism!!!! these are the different dictionary meanings:
1. Not specifically relating to religion or to a religious body 2. Religious skepticism or indifference 3. separating religion (meaning religious laws) from state (meaning constitution)

Borrowing your words, did you invent secularism to define as 'separating religion (meaning religious laws) from state (meaning constitution)'? Go look up the dictionary if you want the literal meaning.
If you want interpretation, go read some books and learn what Gandhiji has said. And that is the secularism accepted and adopted in India.

What we have in India is not Secularism but "CompetitiveCommunalism", one party or other always trying to appease one section of the society or other.

In India, secularism followed comes from Gandhiji's interpretation. You should read some books.
Why don't you teach the meaning of Secularism to Mr.Nicholas Sarkozy who has banned theBlackVeil in France? Or to RobertSpencer, GreetWilders and the GreatGeorgeWBush who had said that there is no place for the Atheists in Amrika as it is a COUNTRY-UNDER-ONE-GOD? There is no prize for guessing which is that ONE-GOD he was referring to.

"According to Gandhi, secularism is not denial or religion, but equal treatment of all."
did gandhi invent secularism to define it however he wants???? secularism has only one meaning: "separation of religion from state" and NOT "inclusion of religion into state"!!!!!!! secularism is not an abstract term for you to define it however u want.....
Re: @giveanid - gandhian secularism!!!
by giveanid on Apr 12, 2011 10:46 AM
Patriot, first of all, the word meaning of secularism is NOT "separation of religion from state". GO check if you want to get the literal meaning.
Secondly, the interpretation if secularism by Gandhi is the accepted idea of secularism in India. To learn that, you will have to read some books...
