Good Move from Sardar and Sonia
by rafiuddin farooqui on Apr 10, 2011 02:51 PM  | Hide replies

This is the play of the government. After getting done RTI and RTE. The Lokpal Bill. It is all drama made by Government to introduce the Lokpal Bill. If they try to do it the congress, BJP and other parties make hue and cry. This is the simplest way to introduce such bill and acts. Clever Sardar using all methodologies. Get a public support and introduce stringent laws to eradicate the corruption.

One thing I agree with you is that MMS is clever. But he is in the wrong business. It will take a Sheshan to do any thing concrete about the corruption.

As long as we have this tendency of jumping queues, which is a root cause of the corruption,we will keep on doing a great dis-service to our future generations.

The need of the hour is a revolution amongst our women who wold try to inculcate the values, we see in Sachin Tendulkar, in an every child they have, while we will keep busy worsening the situation further.

Very Sad Comments
by Bhajiya on Apr 10, 2011 02:44 PM  | Hide replies

One has to be cautious before making comments that viatiate the whole process in jeopardy. It was great victory of peoples democratic approach demonstration of unity and common cause. This was difficult to imagine a week before and after such great achievement started spoler games.

Mr. Bhushan or any one associated with this committee are expereinced people in drafting of Lokpal bill and Jan Lokpal bill they knows interpretation as well as references to justify the objections on the implicaions and gravity of the subject because they are part of the drafting Jan Lokpal.

If we have to place people for decoration of forum we can place Amitabh bachhan, Hemamalini and Dharmendra or Sachin Temdulkar and MS Dhini on this panel.

All this laughfable and comical bluffing we don't know what is intention of such casual remarks by some people.

How will JAN LOK PAL Bill drafting help in reducing corruption
by suresh jain on Apr 10, 2011 02:41 PM  | Hide replies

Sh. Anna Hazare and Team got a huge response and Public support for the cause of Govt. agreeing to include 5persons from General Public and 5 from Cabinet for Drafting of Jan Lok Pal Bill.
But how the bill once it comes into existence will help in purifying the corrupt or reducing corruption as Jan LokPal will be ONLY to deal with Corruption cases and not for curbing Corruption which is so essential in dealing with any problem with so much of red Tapisem and favourtisim.
It is therefore most important to nip the evil in the bud to study why and how corruption. There is need for correption since there are so many laws and people are not aware.
Even Govt. Guidelines are violated which are for the benefit of indivual say wearing Helmets /or Seat Belts while driving to prevent serious injury in case of accidents but people feel it is required to avoid challaning by a policemen and once caught driving without belt people will grease the palm of Policemen .So the real road to reduce corruption is to make people aware of the Govts Intention and hv. a transparent ways for living which does not call for greasing or getting favours.
So people like Anna Hazare / Ms. Kiran Bedi should concentrate on Social Uplifting of our people as well Govt. to achieve the goal.

I agree with you.Firstly it US who have to STOP greasing palms,of whosoever it maybe.Every child knows that there are agents of corruption in very walk of life in India.I challenge anyone to get,say a passport, WITHOUT greasing palms of the people involved in the process.Even if we are to register an FIR we have to make the authority concerned HAPPY.And shamelessly they ask for 'Chai-pani -ka-paisa'.And remember a cop on the beat taking 50 bucks is AS corrupt as Raja taking millions.BOTH ARE CORRUPT.

Your apprehensions r right. But Anna has done a great service to the nation by raising the sleeping people to rise against corruption, which itself will go a long way in reducing corruption. He has also said that he will b touring all over the country to galvanise people against corruption. He has also said about taking up electoral reforms. All this is bound to reduce corruption.

So many have raised the issue of CHANGING THE ELECTORAL PROCESS.After this facile victory I would like to see the SAME persons going hook line and sinker against ANY AND EVERY pollitician who has a criminal record. Then we can say that WE ARE ALL SERIOUS in erasing corruption. It is NOT only the politicians we should correct and check...what about the self annointed HOLY men ( call him Ramdev,Asaram,Swami of Art of Living and their likes...where do THEY get ALL financial ENERGY from.Really I doubt the sources.God WILL NOT punish us if we want to know the truth.

shanti bhushan and his son in panel reduces credibility of panel
by Kungfu Panda on Apr 10, 2011 02:39 PM  | Hide replies

This is ridiculous. How come Shanti Bhushan, a father and his son are featuring in the same panel? Isn't nepotism also a sort of corruption that encourages family members instead of merit in constituting a panel? Aren't there no other legal experts in this country with integrity and honesty other than this father-son pair? They will always be on the same side for any issue because of their blood relationship. This is going to cause people to lose faith in the panel. Immediately father or son should be thrown out and another legal expert should be appointed in their place

This committee is not paid salaries or honararium they work free of cost. Both are part of Draft Jan Lokpal Bill and experience in Government functioning. They are part of commiteee due to merit and not as charity. People can ask for anyone but they must have some experience to counter Big Expereince Pranav Mukharjee, Chidamburam, Kapil Sibbal, Virappa Moiley Kind shrewed politicians.

With all respects, Anna Hazare has taken an excellent initiative and achieved all his demands for the country. However,Baba Ram Dev rightly pointed out there should not be two Bhushans in the same committee. We have great experts in our country. All civil members are prone to be influenced by the govt ministers.

I am not too surprised to see Bachhan and Bajaj jumping on the Anna bandwagon. Most opportunists will now see the wisdom of showing their support to Anna's crusade. But do these 'celebrities' have the moral right? Hasn't Bachhan tried to pass himself off as a'farmer' and bypass the law, obviously by bribibg local revenu/land record officials? Hasn't he forgotten to declare some things in his baggage to customs officials? Didn't he faile to repay his debts to nationalised banks and doordarshan? (all this was reported in the media, and my comments are based on these reports) Didn't Bajaj benefit by 'licence raj' and enjoy monopoly in two wheeler market for decades? Doesn't he owe his empire to his political connections? As I watch the television coverage of Anna's coverage, I see many faces who have derived benefits from the corrupt system. I would request them to remain away from this crusade against corruption before people throw them out (just like they did to Chautala and Umabharati). The new Sun that is about to rise on India's horizon does not need worshipers like Bachhan and Bajaj. Khans are much better and patriots.

In that sense, Kiran Bedi should not be sharing the dias of Anna Hazare. She was a govt officer and bureaucrats, police, govt officers and civil servants are most corrupt and are the target of this anti-corruption drive along with politicians. if politicians are not allowed on dias, how come kiran bedi is allowed to do so. Cops are one of the most corrupt aren't they?

This is the problem in India if something is good going to start they start scolding people who sparked these campaigns.
