EVEN IF YOU BRING THAT BLACK MONEY FROM SWISS BANKS, THESE POLITICIANS EAT THAT MONEY ALSO AND KEEP ROAMING SCOTFREE. DANDAPINDAS (WASTE BODIES)
Only by buying arms a country cannot be a super power.
China's GDP PPP is $7500,where as India's GDP PPP is $ 3300.
China's literacy is 95%,India's literacy is 74%
China's inflation rate is 5%,India's inflation rate is 9.7%.
China's export volume is $ 1.5 trillion,whereas India's export volume is $200 billion..
China's 8% population is below $1.25 per day poverty line (PPP) set by the World Bank where as the same figure for India is 42%.
China's 54% population is urban whereas India's urban population is 25%.
China has its own policy,India makes policy looking at China,Pakistan,America,etc,etc...
So long there is no sincerity, harwork, committment, nationalism, honesty,India cannot be a super power just by purchasing arms,it will only provide opportunity to corrupt leaders and officers to get more kickbacks in foreign accounts!

Good post, we can not simply deny these facts. It is not India, even Pakistan has been a sore loser. Their misguided policies of intense hate against India made them invite big powers, but only they gained from those efforts while Pakistan got manipulated, its democracy derailed, economy impoverished and the society became terror ridden.
If Pakistan policy makers change tack and become genuinely friendly to India, the whole subcontinent can benefit immensely and the unity shall make the regional very formidable.
The economic growth of the subcontinent would be double digit for decades ahead. Our sub-continent got to aim becoming a super economy and achieve 25 percent of global GDP, as it used to be before Britishers colonised India.

To make reason prevail over our divided history needs not just overcoming British Empire but also the reconciling to the 600 plus year of Islamic rule.
The fascinating Islamic period once again gave India a unified identity, lost for over thousand years. Hindi and Urdu language was born, several new schools of art were spawned, several new cities came into existence and there was large scale improvement in agriculture thanks to expansion in irrigation, road building, metal work industries.
There were also tremendous political and religious oppression and Hindus and Sikh suffered greatly. This hate has remained amidst our masses, stoked further by divide and rule policy of our colonial masters, continues to this day.
To overcome this enormous volume of venomous emotions amidst our divided masses requires tremendous effort by mass arts in all formats which is not easy to create of requisite quality. It is only through such arts to depict past and present reality truly and convincingly, in order to overcome the misgivings of history, can conditions for prosperity be created.

China's population is aging and Indian population is becoming more younger, and that is going to make a lot of difference by 2050, by when most of Chinese population would be of retired age and Indian population would have 60% under 25 years of age, and more importantly larger than chinese population. So if we plan well now about this great human resource then thats going to make a lot of difference.

Partha: Chinese are not fools! They sensed the burden of overpopulation and took measures 30 yrs back. Now if they feel to make their country younger, in next 40 yrs, they can again change their demography.
We've a huge pool of youth, but how many of them are as dedicated as a Chinese?
